A gathering of memory, transformation & love.

This exhibition explores historic love, the energy of self understanding & the quiet ( yet intense ) evolution that happens within us. As we learn to honor ourselves, the love we carry becomes a powerful frequency one that creates space for others ( and ourselves ) to grow, reflect, and become. ( mirror and memory )

Brief and Review Summary :
Historic love lives in the layers we inherit : the gestures, memories, wounds, tenderness & wisdom carried through time. This work enters that space as a conversation between who we have been and who we are still becoming. It follows the energy of understanding oneself: the slow unfolding, the honest reflection, and the courage to meet every part of the self with compassion. When love within becomes the highest energy, it does not close us off from the world … it opens a doorway. From that inner light, we create room for others to develop, project their dreams, recognize their own becoming & exist more freely ( in wound or wisdom , that’s not always our control of decision to curate ) . This exhibition is a space of gratitude. For the past, for transformation, for connection & for the love that continues to move through us.

A few years ago, I was blessed to meet Lexington’s own Zach Brock : Grammy-winning violinist, Snarky Puppy member, and now current Artistic Director of Chamber Music Lexington.

As someone who left Kentucky to grow creatively and returned wanting to pour back into the city, Zach’s journey resonates with me. We had talked for a while about finding a meaningful way to collaborate & when he stepped into this new role, he invited me to help shape the creative direction for the 2026 Chamber Music Festival of Lexington.

It is an honor to contribute visual creativity, fresh energy & community connection to a festival w / such a strong foundation. This season is about honoring the sound & history Chamber Music Lexington has built while making room for new ideas, new audiences, and a wider creative conversation.

I am grateful Zach tapped me on the shoulder & trusted my very eclectic unique perspective of the world to add my extra sauce to this vision. It has been inspiring to connect w/ another Kentucky creative who genuinely cares about their craft, community & expanding the impact of music ( & visual art ) alignment.

The Chamber Music Festival of Lexington runs August 21–29, 2026.

Highlights include student performances, free pop-up concerts, a kickoff fundraiser at The Apiary, a cabaret at Equus Run Vineyard, and three Main Stage concerts at the Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center : closing with the world premiere of Mike Block’s Hope on the Hill.

Aug. 21: Performances for Fayette County Public School students

Aug. 22: Free pop-up performances, locations to be announced

Aug. 23, 5:00 PM: Kickoff Fundraiser at the Apiary, $100 donation

Aug. 25, 7:00 PM: Cabaret at Equus Run Vineyard, $30 at the door

Aug. 27, 28, 29, 7:30 PM: Main Stage concerts at the Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center.

Saturday closes with the world premiere of Mike Block's "Hope on the Hill," chamber version. $45 advance, $50 door, $15 students with ID, free for children 12 and under.

Big love to Zach Brock, Chamber Music Lexington, Nathan Cole, the incredible musicians, and everyone bringing this vision to life. I hope to see Lexington show up for this one.

Relief helps you make it through the moment.
Evolution helps you change the pattern :

In moments in life , sometimes our nervous systems need a pause before it can make space for anything deeper. Relief matters. It gives us room to breathe, regroup & get through the day / event , etc.

But with evolving / evolution … it asks more than, “How do I feel better right now?” It asks:
“ What old survival rule am I ready to stop carrying into every new moment? “ for growth.

We all have made it this far by adapting, surviving difficult seasons & taking those small but courageous risks . We push the continue button , progress. Even when growth has felt slower than you hoped. That resilience is not proof you are meant to struggle forever. It is evidence that you can grow beyond what once kept you safe.

Quick Art Therapy Prompt for the day : Nervous System Weather Report

Take 3–5 minutes during lunch, between meetings, or whenever you need a check in.

Draw the weather happening inside you at this moment you make space for the activity :

sun, clouds, wind, rain, lightning , etc …

Then finish this sentence:

The weather inside me is ________ & I can support myself by ________.

You do not have to force the weather to change. You only have to remember: you are the person noticing the weather, not the weather itself.

Relief lets you rest. Evolution lets you move.

Insight and awareness , it doesn’t always have to be embedded.

A few weeks ago, Danville became a room without walls.

The rain came through, rearranging a few plans & asking everyone to decide how much the moment meant to them. And people stayed.

They stood under umbrellas, beneath gray Kentucky skies & listened while brass instruments lifted sound into the weather. Horns did what horns have always done: turned breath into something bigger than one person. Into memory. Into movement. Into community.

That is what I carried w/ me while creating this limited edition piece for the 36th Great American Brass Band Festival.

I am deeply grateful to / / / ( the city of Danville ) & the festival family for trusting me to serve as an artist for a celebration this year for this historic festival with this much history, joy & soul. To have my work become part of this Kentucky tradition is an honor I do not take lightly.

This exclusive limited print was created from the reflection of attending the festival for the first time and also capsuling the experience of the festival this year with the theme / weather as an archival checkpoint.

There will be a limited to only 36 prints , as the number of years the festival as been recorded.

few days out from the :

sending a huge ( thousand times more s/o out ) to for selective me as the featured visual artist for the poster and t shirt design this year. Super honored.

Learning the history of & taking time to research Danville a little deeper… this felt like the first time I really saw it ( and connected with the city since childhood ) : a beautiful city, a chill city, a quiet recharge I needed.

It was a little rainy but the community flow was undeniable. I talked with a variety of folks : teachers and retired teachers, professors, musicians, kids , locals , peoples of travels several states for the event , students , food vendors, etc …everybody was open, connected & locked into the same music laced spirit.

I’ll definitely be back next year to enjoy it again ( on the lawn music centered ) . Much love again to ( Executive Director ) for trusting visual /styles to be stamped into the traditional posters catalogue carried forward in this long tradition forward.

And just a heads up: I’ll be dropping a very, very exclusive Brass Band Festival print at the end of this week. It’ll be up for only a few weeks on my webstore ( and at my studio ).

I’ve been looking at my clips differently lately. ( I currently have able 900 random 1 minute to 30!second clips on my phone : splashes of framed time )

I’ve been thinking about memory, archives, and what we choose to keep sacred.

Not everything needs to stay hidden on my phone. Some moments are meant to be archived, shared + remembered.

++ As a kid, I remember hanging at my grandmother’s house watching old VHS tapes of family reunions & forgotten moments brought back to life ( seeing my siblings younger , my aunties & uncles before I was born , etc ) … reruns of awards shows ,sitcoms and special moment of broadcasting . Those moments and visual landscape have stayed w/ me.

Now I’m realizing these little clips, these random scenes, these in between moments, are part of my archive too. So I’m going to be more directly intentional about posting art vlogs, behind the scenes moments, music installations, video installations & more. I’ve got exciting things ( for my journey ) coming soon … so I want to build this space with more consistency & life ( for archival memorabilia and reflective materials for myself )
