We want to sincerely apologize for the lack of recent posts.

Over the past weeks, many things were explored and efforts were made behind the scenes, but ultimately, some plans did not work out as hoped. Our thoughts are with everyone affected, and we truly wish the best for those navigating difficult changes right now.

Moving forward, this page will be transitioning through a rebrand to align with the local company now managing it. Along with regular business updates, the page will continue to share community-focused content — including local news, resources, and helpful information for those impacted — similar to other local community pages.

SEE UPDATED STORY IN COMMENTS

An estimated 150 representatives of human service agencies around Dawson County met this afternoon in Lexington. Discussion on resources and services available to workers who will be displaced. One point raised was that employees should not start quitting now as they will then not be eligible for state "displaced worker" benefits.

Quick update for everyone here.

We’re still talking about the idea of a cooperative for Lexington, but we also want to be realistic. There’s always a chance a full co-op can’t happen right away, especially if Tyson doesn’t sell the building or if the process takes too long.

But that doesn’t mean we stop.

Even without a co-op, we can still build something important for our town — a community group that supports families affected by the closure, connects people to resources, helps with events, and brings our community together during a really tough moment.

This page isn’t just about one idea. It’s about helping each other and looking out for the people of Lexington, no matter what happens with the building.

If a co-op becomes possible later, great. If not, we can still organize, support each other, and create something positive for our community.
