RecClix streamlines and simplifies the communication needs of youth sports organizations. Throughout the course of a season, you need to interact with your participants for a variety of reasons. There are very routine communications like game times and location. Then there are more ad hoc communications such as cancelled and rescheduled games, field changes and special meetings. Finally, there are

time-critical communications: practice ended early come pick-up, forgotten items at the gym, and even notification about player injuries. Traditional methods – hotlines, website updates, automated calling to home phones, calling trees – can be cumbersome, inefficient, not timely, ineffective or all of the above. Email or group text lists require every administrator and coach to have everyone’s contact information on their computer and smart phone and organized correctly. RecClix provides a communication platform that allows authorized users to quickly, easily and securely contact the right group of people with the information they need. This allows organizations to rapidly implement the solution with little upfront time and no investment in technology. A user goes directly into RecClix from a computer or smartphone. Because all communications go through our servers, they are secure and private. Phone numbers and/or email addresses are not shown to all recipients. The sender’s phone number is not included with text messages that are sent and you can choose to protect the sender’s email address as well. Plus, when the season is over and the information is no longer needed, it is no longer accessible and people don’t have unnecessary contacts on their computer or phone. With RecClix an organization can:
• manage league, team, coach, player and player contact (i.e., parent) information in one place
• send game, practice or other event reminders including maps, addresses, coaches comments and instructions to only those participants who are impacted
• cancel a game, meeting or class with just a couple of clicks and then send notifications for cancelled and rescheduled events to only those who are impacted
• give coaches access to their team’s schedule and roster, including parent contact information and medical conditions, from their computer or smartphone
• allow administrators or coaches (for their team only) to easily contact participants and their parents using email, voice or text messaging
• eliminate hotlines, last minute webpage updates, mass email lists, group text lists even sending home paper schedules

The best advice...

Playing Time Post #1
Four posts over the next two days will focus on a hot-button issue that many team sport coaches, players, and parents deal with regularly – Playing Time. The quote here by former NBA player Shane Battier is a great statement for players to consider if they are struggling with their playing time. While playing time issues are not always as simple as “playing so well that your coaches can't sit you,” there is merit in the concept that if you perform well, you will play more. Of course, things like attitude, effort, coachability, knowing the plays, and what kind of teammate you are all are part of the equation as well. Be your best in all of these areas to give yourself the best chance at increasing your playing time. The next two posts will focus on the coaches’ role in this dynamic, and the last post will focus on parents’ involvement in playing time issues.
