A lot of the work happens before anything gets designed.

Researching. Listening. Taking notes. Looking at what’s working, what isn’t, and what other smart people in the industry are seeing.

I’ve never believed that being the expert means you stop learning. If anything, the longer I do this, the more intentional I’ve become about staying curious.

Because websites change. Search changes. AI is changing how people find businesses. And the advice I give clients has to keep up with all of it.

The goal isn’t to know everything.

It’s to keep learning enough to ask better questions, make better decisions, and do better work for the people who trust us with their business.

Your SEO report can look healthy while your lead flow tells a completely different story.

Rankings are holding.
Traffic looks decent.
But the calls?

They’re slowing down.

That’s the part businesses need to start paying attention to.

Search behavior has changed. People can now get surprisingly complete answers without clicking through to a website at all. And when AI does surface a business or source, it needs something useful to work with.

So the question isn’t only:
“Where do we rank?”

It’s also:
“Are we showing up in the answer?”

SEO still matters. But rankings alone aren’t the finish line anymore.
Getting found is changing. Your content strategy should change with it.

Can we normalize not redesigning websites that are already doing their job?

It sounds strange coming from a web designer, but a redesign should solve a problem—not create a new one just because the internet found another trend.

If your website is generating leads, ranking well, and giving visitors a solid experience, I’m not tearing it apart because rounded buttons, oversized text, or a new animation style suddenly became popular.

Sometimes the smarter move is smaller:

Improve the weak spots.
Test what’s working.
Modernize what actually affects the user experience.
Leave the rest alone.

New doesn’t automatically mean better.
A good redesign should have a reason behind it.

So before you spend money rebuilding the whole thing, let’s figure out whether you actually need a redesign—or just a few smarter changes.

AI chatbots aren’t automatically a website upgrade.

If a chatbot helps someone get a real answer, find the right information, or take the next step faster, it’s doing its job.

But if it interrupts visitors three seconds after they land on the page, covers half the screen, and adds another thing they have to close? That’s not innovation. That’s friction.

The goal isn’t to add AI because everyone’s talking about AI. The goal is to make your website easier to use.
Technology should support the experience—not become the experience.

What do you think: AI chatbots — useful or annoying?

Ranking #1 on Google sounds great.
But being first doesn’t automatically mean being chosen.

Someone can find your firm at the top of the results, click through, and still leave because another firm has stronger reviews, clearer messaging, better proof, or simply feels easier to trust.

That’s the difference between visibility and conversion.

Rankings get you considered.
Your reputation, positioning, and website experience help get you chosen.

So if your rankings look good and traffic is coming in, but the phone still isn’t ringing, I wouldn’t automatically assume you need more SEO.

I’d look at what people see after the click.
Because getting found is only half the job.

Getting chosen is the part that actually matters.

If you’re getting traffic but not getting calls, send us a message. That’s the part we’d look at next.

Some of my best ideas don’t happen when I’m staring at the screen.

They happen somewhere between a conversation, stepping away from the desk, and giving myself enough room to actually think.

Running a business has taught me that being busy and making progress aren’t always the same thing.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is slow down long enough to ask better questions, have better conversations, and remember why you started doing this in the first place.

Still learning. Still building. Still enjoying the process.

And very grateful I get to do work I genuinely care about.

You paid for the click. What happens next matters even more.

Ads can get someone to your website. SEO can put you in front of the right search. But neither one can make a potential client trust what they find when they arrive.

That part is your website’s job.

If the message is unclear, the experience feels generic, or the next step is hard to find, that click you worked—and paid—for can disappear in seconds.

Before putting more money into traffic, make sure your website is ready to do something with it.

Clear message.
Immediate trust.
Obvious next step.

Getting the click gets them through the door. Your website has to convince them they came to the right place.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I’ve never seen someone leave a great website because the logo wasn’t exciting enough.

I have seen people leave because they couldn’t figure out what the firm actually does.
Or because they couldn’t find the information they needed.
Or because contacting someone felt harder than it should.

Branding absolutely matters. A strong identity helps people recognize and remember you.

But a great logo can’t rescue a frustrating website experience.

Before spending months perfecting every detail of your brand, make sure the experience around it actually works.
Clarity. Trust. Easy navigation. A clear next step.

Those are the things that move someone closer to becoming a client.

Curious where you land on this one: logo or website experience—which matters more?

Website trends move fast.

One month it’s minimalism. Then oversized typography. Then animations everywhere. Now it’s AI chatbots.
Some of those ideas are useful. But being popular doesn’t automatically make something right for your website.

The questions that matter haven’t changed:
Can people find what they need?
Do they understand what makes your firm different?
Do they trust you?
Is the next step obvious?

A good website doesn’t need to chase every new trend. It needs to make the experience better for the people actually using it.

Use trends when they serve a purpose. Skip them when they’re just decoration.
And before assuming your website needs another full redesign, sometimes a few strategic changes are all it takes.

Not sure which one yours needs? Send us a message. We’ll take a look.

Your website isn’t being read by just one audience anymore.

There’s the person who lands on your site after an accident, looking for answers. They need to quickly understand who you help, why they should trust you, and what to do next.

Then there are the systems deciding whether your firm should be surfaced at all—Google, AI search tools, and other platforms trying to understand what your firm does and whether your content is useful.

The interesting part?
Both reward clarity.

You shouldn’t have to choose between building a website for people and building one for search.
A strong law firm website does both.

Human enough to earn trust. Structured enough to be understood.
