Galaxy S20 Ultra Data Recovery Case:

This Galaxy S20 Ultra came in for data recovery after the customer lost about 80GB of photos and videos.

During our diagnostics, we found a short that had reached the inner layer of the motherboard.
Swapping the CPU, storage, and RAM to a new motherboard was a much easier and less time-consuming option, so that became our plan to access the data.

After the swap, the phone showed a “BOTA Partition not found” error, then went into a boot loop on the Samsung logo and couldn’t enter recovery mode.

We flashed the phone using HOME_CSC through Odin, which allowed it to enter recovery and begin “Optimizing Apps.”

It continued to boot loop during optimization and then remained stuck on the Samsung logo for about 1–2 hours.

Eventually, we got it to boot into Safe Mode by choosing to delete app data, and from there we successfully extracted all of the customer's photos and videos.
