Prairie Fusion Graphics is a small graphic design studio that I run out of my home. I have been a graphic designer for over 30 years, designing dozens of books and thousands of other projects, from business cards to billboards. I specialize in one- and two-color print documents for clients with limited budgets, PDF documents of all kinds, and book des

ign. Many samples of my work can be viewed in the Photos section (see the "Portfolio:" albums). I am not an artist, so if your project requires original art (drawings or paintings) I won't be able to help you. If you are looking for clean, functional document design at a reasonable price, I'll be happy to give you an estimate.

A Quick Photo Edit

A client sent a photo that she liked, except for the busy background. She asked if the background could be blurred or removed entirely.

The left image shows the original photo as supplied by the client; the center image shows the photo with the background heavily blurred; and the right image shows the photo with a background of neutral grays.

My most recently completed project is issue #1 of Zenit, a 16 page zine (mini-magazine) featuring 12 of my photos, including 3 color photos and a 16 inch wide panorama. The theme of this issue is “The Time Traveller.” It follows my progress as I resumed working as a photographer after a 25 year hiatus.

Another Svensk Hyllningsfest is fast approaching. This cartoon is by the late Norman Malm, a great friend of the festival who was always willing to contribute new cartoons for the festival program booklets that I worked on. This one was one of my favorites, as I think it captures the whole Hyllningsfest experience in a wonderful way.

I'm currently having problems with my phone line, so you might want to use e-mail instead. If you do call, expect to hear a lot of buzzing and static. Changing phones had no effect, so its something that the phone company will have to look into.
