Endpoint security fails again. The reality is that organizations that relay on endpoint protection as the core of their defensive strategy, are more susceptible to attacks, making continuous network monitoring crucial to detecting attacks. In the case of CircleCI, having a Network Detection and Response (NDR) system would have detected the large amounts of anomalous internal traffic involved in the attack and alerted the IT team to threats in a matter of hours.
