Out of the box first impression of the Aliencell E1:

It's like Aliencell, xTool, and Creality all bought stuff from the same third party designer.

E1 & A1 - same chassis design, but different size and finish materials. E1 leans heavily into plastics while the A1 is metal.

E1, A1, & M2 - same core xy motion setup. This is becoming more popular, but has its own issues.

E1 & M2 - same module setup. Hopefully the E1 has a better time with the little USB-C cable (not installed in photo) which seems to break somewhat frequently with the M2.

E1 & M2 - same funky accessory cables. Creality has started using those cables as well on their newer A1C and T1 machines, which is unfortunate for owners.

It's going to be busy week! Aside from today's product launch, this guy showed up.

I worked with Aliencell previously, helping them flesh out their X1 by beating up prototypes and sending feedback on what I broke. When the E1 became available, I decided to buy one.

It's a small machine, targeting the Creality Falcon A1/A1 Pro and xTool M2 for price. It will be interesting to see if they managed to get the E1 up to the X1 speeds, and if the 10W actually has the tiny 0.03x0.03mm focal point.
