I had the privilege to design various print materials for Operation Blankets of Love (OBOL). They are a one-of-a-kind animal welfare emergency and relief non-profit, whose mission is to improve the health and survival of homeless animals, increasing their chances of being adopted. As an advocate for animal welfare, I prepared print pieces to advocate for Car Safety and Asphalt Safety.

Asphalt can be hot enough to cause second degree burns within 35 seconds. If it is too hot for you to walk barefoot, it is scorching for your pet’s paws. Before you go on a walk, place your bare hand on the surface for 7 seconds. 🥵🐾

Letting your dog sit on the driver’s lap or the passenger seat is a significant safety risk to both of you and can cause an accident.
Strap your dog into the back seat with a safety harness that buckles directly into the seat belt buckle. Make sure it is secure and comfy. 🦮🚗

A little to this logo I designed for the MOSTe virtual walkathon this summer. .girls (Mentoring Our Students Through Experience) empowers girls in underserved neighborhoods of Los Angeles County to become the next generation of college-educated women. Even though there were many challenges with COVID-19 guidelines, fundraising still needed to happen. These girls were still persisting toward their college goals, so the organization adapted by developing a virtual fundraising walkathon. I was inspired by their ambitious mission, giving this logo a clean, energetic, and optimistic icon depicting the virtual nature of the event. This logo had to convey "Girls moving forward toward college graduation."

I was reminded of this Primary Source Readers book I worked on, while perusing old family notebooks and accounts of life before emigrating to the USA. It was a priveledge to scour through archives for authentic images from the First World War, especially colorized images, that made the content more real for the young readers. Whether you spell it “donut” or “doughnut,” there’s no doubt donuts are one of the best sweet treats there is! We even have a holiday every June for the Salvation Army volunteers that took donuts and coffee to soldiers in France in the trenches during World War I. What’s your favorite donut?? 🍩
