Much like chess, no one strategy trumps all others. These tips won't guarantee you a win, but they should help you get started! It’s important to understand how the site works prior to placing bids. If you have a question that you cannot find an answer to, please contact our Customer Service team and they will be happy to help! Start Small
The bigger the item the more people will be interested in it. Before going after that new laptop or HDTV, develop your strategy on less competitive items such as low to medium value gift cards, tools, housewares, sporting goods or generally any low priced item. Use Bidinator
Bidinator allows you to bid even when you aren’t at your computer! eYipee website. This can be very useful if you can’t be present for a particular auction or if you have an unreliable Internet connection that might be interrupted during bidding. Pick Your Item
Placing a small number of bids in multiple auctions simultaneously is generally not a successful strategy. You may have more success on eYipee! if you select an auction you are interested in and stick with it. Some users do win auctions using only one bid, however this is not common. Best strategy is to arm yourself with enough Bids to out Bid your opponents. When you win on eYipee all your Bids are automatically refunded to you, Hence “ Win 4 Free”
Activate Bidinator
Many bidders set their Bidinator maximum bid price at round numbers. You can use this to your advantage by setting your maximum bid just above where others may cut theirs off. For example, instead of setting a maximum bid price of 50, try 57. Also the Bidinator can only be set to 100 Bids at a time, you can reload at any time on the same auction. Reason: To give Bidders and fair opportunity to Bid. Bidding Time
There are two ways to participate. You can either set a Bidinator to bid for you, or you can press the Quick Bid button manually (aka Single Bid). Given differing numbers of bidders and bidding patterns, auctions are hard to predict; they can end quickly or can take longer as 15 to 30 minutes. Although small items typically don't last long, active bidding on "big high end Auction" items can sometimes continue for 30 minutes. Avoid Late Bidding
Attempting to bid during the last seconds repeatedly may result in your bid not being placed in time. Bidding half a second too late just once is enough to miss out! We generally recommend bidding with no less than 5 seconds remaining to ensure that your bid will count. Don't Run Out Of Bids
If you run out of bids during an auction you will need to leave the auction page to purchase more bids. During this time, another bidder could win the item. Buying a larger BidPak before the auction can help avoid this possibility and, of course, larger BidPaks cost you less per bid! and when you Win, your Bids are refunded to your account. Adjust Your Schedule
Most bidding on popular auctions occurs during 6:00pm to 10:00pm daily. Study Your Competition
You may notice that certain bidders are more successful than others. Study their bidding habits to develop your own strategy and outbid them on future auctions. Timing is Everything
Most of the bidding occurs with less than 30 seconds on the clock, since placing a bid near the end adds time to the auction. For this reason, we do not recommend bidding early in the auction. Some products tend to receive many bids while other (less competitive) items tend to receive less. Watch similar auctions to identify patterns so you can time your bid just right. These tips are based on our past observations and are provided for informational purposes only. They may become more or less effective as customer’s bidding strategies & trends naturally change.
