Is it actually safe to let your employees use AI at work?
The short answer? It can be, but simply telling everyone to “be careful” isn’t much of an AI strategy. Your employees may already be using AI to draft emails, summarize documents, brainstorm ideas, analyze information, or speed up everyday tasks.
The bigger question is whether everyone understands what they should and shouldn’t be putting into those tools: customer information, passwords, financial data, internal documents, or other sensitive business information shouldn’t casually find its way into an AI prompt just because it makes a task easier.
That doesn’t mean you need to ban AI.
It means giving your team some basic guardrails: which tools are approved, what information is off limits, when AI-generated work needs to be reviewed, and who employees can ask when they aren’t sure.
AI can absolutely help your business move faster. The goal is making sure you’re not creating a new security problem along the way.
