Eric Kean created Kean Sound in 2007 to provide live Front of House mixing for bands, and the occasional live recording; however, due to the demands of college, and other projects, it was set aside for several years. Now in 2014 Kean Sound is back in full with a new closet of gear, a new focused mission, and a great love for the process and people in the industry. Eric began his audio career in high school, mixing various projects, and learning from his father, a long time sound engineer. Eric attended and graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in Music Education, as well as having taken coursework in music recording, electrical engineering, and physics relating to audio. While at CU Eric served as the Production Manager for Program Council, overseeing lighting and sound for events with artists such as Pretty Light, Mumford and Sons, Rodrigo y Gabriela, and many more. Additionally Eric worked as a rated sound engineer at Macky Auditorium, providing sound for a large range of events in one of Boulder's most beautiful venues. During summers since 2005 Eric has worked for Planet Bluegrass on the production crew, working on their events, the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Rockygrass, Folks Festival, the bi-annual kinfolk festival. In the film world, Eric has worked primarily as a recording specialist, providing location audio for award winning films, music videos, and youtube content. Eric has also recorded several full albums, and provided audio editing and cleaning services for several projects.
