There is going to be a major outage here in town on Monday June 24th. The power is going to be out for as much as 6 hours, starting about 9am. Rappahannock Electric is replacing a power pole across the street, and that's not a fast job.
You might have seen them working poles down Main St this week, and they're getting to me on Monday.
I am sorry about the length on this, but working those poles isn't easy.

We just had a power outage in town, 10.35 to 10.55am
My battery backup only lasts 5-10 mins, so service went out for a little bit, 15 mins or so until power returned.
Sorry about that. All appears working again.

Today was an excellent day for Mad Gig. Our current project in development is service in Criglersville. We expect to have fiber service turned on from Verizon in a week or so, and fast internet will go live for about half the village at that same time.
Our initial service speed will be 100 megabits/second over fiber.
Today we put more fiber in the ground, verified that uplink to the gateway is good, and that midpoints are just about ready to go. We should have the south end of the village done next week, and the north end later in the month.
The failure to sell the school there makes for a little awkwardness on that side but we'll get that straightened out soon.

Well, it's Christmas again in a couple of days. Some of us will be getting new computers and game consoles and games and stuff like that needing big updates right after you install them.

Madison Gigabit offers you the opportunity again to come by on Dec 26 or 27 or 28 and do those updates on near-gigabit service speed in the office. We have a new fiber incoming service speed as of a few months ago in the office, your game installs/updates.

Please let me know in advance if you want to do this, I will have some out-of-office customer work to do also.

If you're getting a pony for christmas, congratulations, I can't help with that unless you maybe need wifi installed on it, but even then don't bring it to the office.

It is looking like a serious hurricane this weekend. I expect we are going to get soaked over the course of several days. Be careful if you have to drive around anywhere, and don't panic about getting TP.
I'll do what I can to support any kind of service outage repair, but the weather may render that unsafe for a while. Don't hesitate to contact me anyway.
I'm hoping my driveway doesn't wash out...
Graves Mtn Lodge Apple Festival is being pushed back one week, so I won't be out there this weekend.

WARNING WARNING WARNING !

We are going to have a service outage in town this coming SATURDAY because the roof over the front door is going to get replaced. It has leaked inside WAY too many times over the last several years.

I will post when the time comes, and I will be trying to minimize that entirely.

Well, we had a service outage in town this afternoon, following a power outage for 90 mins or so, looks like. I have a battery backup unit that doesn't always restart itself after that, this happened before a couple months ago.
All OK now, altho I need to think about that battery unit...

Build/install action on Quaker Run is continuing, albeit slowly.
Looks like we'll be starting on Criglersville soon. Possibly up Poor House Rd and jogging left on Hurt Hollow this summer too.
Banco then might happen in the fall...just started that conversation a week ago.
Doing both would be exciting. And this is separate from the Poor-House/Duet/Whipporwill effort, which is still very preliminary right now.

Still fighting service trouble at Graves Mountain Lodge. At this point I think we've got an issue with the radios in those links having internal software trouble. It's just a guess, but such a thing does fit with the problem and the time-frame.
So I'm probably now on my fourth 12+ hour day this week trying to solve this problem. Other things I have tried haven't made any detectable difference yet.
There are likely other issues too, that are smaller.
I apologize to those who've been having trouble there...I'm working it but much of what goes on is not directly visible.
