Through a focus on technology exploration, leadership development, and college preparation, ITA offers high school students the skills, resources, and support needed to become strong candidates for admission to the University of Wisconsin-Madison. For ITA Madison, ITA competitively recruits 30 students each year in their final semester of 8th grade. For ITA Lac du Flambeau and Oneida, ITA recruits
for 15 students each year in their final semester of 9th grade in each site. Selected students receive intensive training for high-tech, IT-related careers and thorough preparation for competitive university admissions and study thought out their years in high school. Students of ITA build knowledge and skills through hands-on training, mentoring, leadership development, community service, and internship opportunities. At the same time, the students’ communities benefit from greater access to technology and from the skills and experience gained by these future leaders.
