At Citizens Fiber, your security is one of our top priorities. As we’ve seen an uptick in online scams that are becoming more sophisticated, we want to help you stay protected by recognizing the signs of phishing emails.
Phishing emails are designed to look legitimate but attempt to trick you into sharing personal information, clicking harmful links, or downloading malicious attachments. Here are a few key things to watch for:
• Unexpected or urgent messages: Emails claiming your account will be closed, your payment failed, or that you must act “immediately” are common red flags.
• Suspicious links or attachments: Hover over links before clicking to verify the URL. If it looks unusual or doesn’t match the sender, don’t open it.
• Spelling or grammar errors: Many phishing attempts contain noticeable mistakes or awkward phrasing.
• Requests for personal information: Citizens Fiber will never ask for your password, Social Security number, or payment details through email.
If you receive an email that seems suspicious, do not click any links or reply. Instead, forward it to our support team at [email protected] or call 724-423-5777 so we can verify its legitimacy.
Thank you for helping us keep your account and our network secure.
