We had a great time over the weekend both sponsoring and participating in the Brattleboro Retreat's Ride for Heroes. The Retreat is a longtime customer of ours and we were glad to help in their fundraising efforts. This year they raised over $50,000 to fund the Uniformed Service Program at the Retreat, which helps service members dealing with PTSD and addiction.

Researchers stored and retrieved an operating system, a movie, and some other stuff on DNA.

A full operating system and film stored on DNA were recovered with no errors.

It's mind boggling that in one week the internet has seen two massive failures, Amazon's S3 outage and Cloudbleed at Cloudflare, both because of simple *typos*.

"We’re not paid to write code, we’re paid to add value (or reduce cost) to the business." I recently stumbled upon that quote in an article on software engineering and it couldn't have rung truer for me. Great code is nothing unless it powers a solution that solves the client's underlying problem.
