What keeps the guys busy? One project of many... the Manhattan Area Technical College addition. This project, with BHS Construction, Inc. as GC is going to be great asset to MATC and the whole region. We have been in the process of installing the low voltage (data, voice, WAP, access control, cameras, and fiber optic backbones) cabling and will be at it for a while yet, as the different phases of the project take place. And be sure to smile as you tour the facility, as one of our numerous cameras will be viewing you.

MATC has been a great customer of ours for years and we are flattered to be awarded the project.

How many miles of network cable will be in this building? I'll know when we complete the project and share with you then... it will be alot! 😀

Also, in the comments... let me know if I should convince Brendon to fly his drone through the massive corridor for a touring video. (If BHS & MATC allow such a venture!) 😀

Another Project on the horizon... Riley County EMS Dept is building a new facility here in Manhattan. We are honored to be chosen to handle the network infrastructure cabling. It's been a good working relationship with BHS Construction, Inc. (General Contractor) and Alternative Air Electric (Electricians) and this will be another project together. Looking forward to it.

Couple of pictures of a project that we are working on in Topeka... the Constitution Hall. I'd show you inside pictures, but being under renovation, the place is pretty torn up. Working with Alternative Air Electric on this historical site. Interesting... when this structure was built, did they ever think that in 160 years, someone would be installing a Network Infrastructure... whatever that is? I was doing a walk-through of one of our current projects... that being the expansion of Cornerstone Family Counseling , a project that we are honored to work with Michael Welsh and staff closely on. We are also thrilled to work on yet another project that BHS Construction, Inc. is handling.
As I was looking things over, I was blessed to see that the staff had written scriptures on the construction framing. How neat is that? I thought I'd share some photos of the Ground Breaking Ceremony that occurred last November and sprinkle in some current pictures of these scriptures.

Parsons Communications, Inc. is a growing low voltage contracting company established in 1992 in Manhattan, KS. We install Data/WiFi/Voice/PA/Sound Masking/Nurse Call/Video Surveillance/Intrusion Alarm/Fiber Optics LAN & OSP Infrastructure & Systems.

We are seeking an individual with experience in Network or Security cabling to join our team.

Abilities Required to Perform Job:
• Experience in DataCom cabling, testing & repair.
• Comfortable performing tasks on ladders, high platforms, or tight spaces in a safe manner.
• Able to lift a minimum of 60lbs.
• Experience on construction worksites.
• Knowledge of Firestop Systems.
• Help maintain a safety conscience work environment.
• Good communications skills and attention to detail.
• Respect and appreciation toward customers.
• Willingness to work hours outside of the normal 8am-5pm Monday through Friday.
• Valid Driver’s License and transportation to job site.
• Familiarity with architectural drawings.
• Familiarity with computer and network hardware or electronics.

Preferred Additional Abilities to Perform Job:
• BICSI, ETA, Access Control, or other electrical/electronic certification.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel Spreadsheets.
• OSHA or other Construction Safety training.

Wages: Based upon Experience and Qualifications

Well, the dust has settled at the Manhattan Public Library , and the curtain has been removed... revealing a great job that BHS Construction, Inc. has done remodeling the circulation desk area. We had the honor of installing the data cabling for this project... and for that matter, we have been privileged to install Ethernet and fiber optic cabling throughout the whole building since 1998.
Here are some pictures of the finished project and of the new book scanner/sorting machine.
When at the library, think of us, as you watch the machine in action (which you can now if check out the library's or BHS's pages), because it needs our Ethernet cabling, to be able to to do it's thing. Thank you MPL for allowing us to do our thing!
