This was one of those weeks.
The kind where the work you've been putting in quietly for months suddenly shows up all at once. Deals closed. New clients who trust me with their business. Relationships that turned into real partnerships. I'm grateful, and honestly, a little in awe of how it came together.
But here's what I want to say to anyone in the thick of it right now:
The good weeks are built on the hard ones.
A few months ago, I was staring at an empty pipeline wondering if any of this would work. Late nights. Uncertainty. The quiet doubt that creeps in when you've bet on yourself and the results haven't shown up yet.
Nothing about this week was luck. It was the follow-up call I almost didn't make. The relationship I nurtured with no immediate payoff. The price I held when it would've been easier to discount. The days I showed up and did the work even when nothing seemed to be moving.
If you're in the grind right now — building something, betting on yourself, not yet seeing the results — I want you to hear this: keep going. The work you're doing today that feels like it's leading nowhere is exactly what builds the week you'll be grateful for later.
The 3% that never gave up aren't more talented. They just didn't quit.

A surprising amount of my “office time” each week is spent in coffee shops.

Not because I can’t work from home, but because some of the best business conversations don’t happen in conference rooms—they happen over coffee.

As a small business owner, I make it a priority to get out, meet other business owners, learn about their challenges, and look for ways to help. Every conversation expands my network, strengthens relationships, and helps keep the pipeline moving.

Whether it’s a referral partner, a fellow entrepreneur, or someone simply trying to figure out their technology challenges, I believe showing up matters.

So if you see me camped out in a local coffee shop with a laptop and a cup of coffee, don’t hesitate to stop by and say hello. I’m always looking to connect with other business owners and learn more about what they’re building.

Some nights I'm up later than I'd like, staring at a problem that doesn't have an obvious answer. Cash flow to figure out. A client waiting on me. A dozen things I'm learning as I go, usually the hard way.
And in the middle of all of it, I keep having this thought:
One day I'm going to miss this.

Not the stress — I won't miss the 11pm worry or the weeks I wasn't sure the numbers would work. But this. The early days. The part where it's just me, a laptop, and a bet on myself. Where every small win feels enormous because I earned it from nothing. Where a single "yes" from a client can make my whole week.

I started Falcon Byte to be the IT department for small businesses that don't have one — to be the person a business owner can actually count on when the tech breaks and nobody else picks up. Building that from scratch is hard in ways I didn't expect. But it's mine. Every client, every late night, every problem I figure out — it all counts toward something I'm building on purpose.
I think the struggle is the part you romanticize later. Right now it just feels like the grind. But someday I'll look back on these scrappy early days — the uncertainty, the hustle, the figuring-it-out — and I'll remember them as some of the best of my life.

So I'm trying to do something hard: appreciate it while I'm in it. Not just survive today so I can enjoy some future version of the business. But actually notice, right now, that I'm living the part of the story I'll tell for years.

To everyone else out there in the early, uncertain, exhausting, exhilarating days of building something — you're not behind. You're not failing because it's hard. You're right where the good stuff happens.
Enjoy it while you're in it.

This week I had five 1:1 meetings with other business owners and professionals.

Two of those conversations were with fellow IT shop owners. Some people see that as competition. I see it as an opportunity to learn, share experiences, and build relationships with people who understand the challenges of running a technology business.

Every conversation gave me a new perspective—whether it was about operations, customer service, growth strategies, or simply how others are navigating today’s business environment.

Networking isn’t always about making a sale today. Sometimes it’s about building the relationships that lead to better ideas, stronger partnerships, and future opportunities.

It has been a productive week, and I’m grateful for everyone who took the time to connect.

Here’s to continuing to learn, grow, and help each other succeed.
