Do you check reviews before you make a purchase?

Are reviews important for your business?

Of course, they are!

86% of people look at online reviews before making a purchase.

91% of people trust online reviews as much as they trust personal recommendations.

People who review your business online do this for one of two reasons. They completely loved their interaction or they hated it.

So how do you make sure that your customers leave GREAT reviews?

Certainly, customer service should be your main focus. But once you have that down there are several steps to boost your reputation online.

First, make it easy! Customers don't want to have to find where to submit reviews. If they are going to take their time to give you a review you need to make it simple for them. One way to do this is to send them a link directly to your Google reviews or a simple funnel (we'll get to that later).

Next, send them review links at the point in the exchange where they are the happiest. Customers that get their new sinny object are going to be much more willing to review your company than a month down the road. You can manually send a link for a review or automate the process at a specific time in your interaction.

Another great route is to offer a discount on their next purchase in exchange for a review. This will help to gain a review AND increase the possibility of more business with your customer.

Finally, to ensure the quality of the review, set up a funnel. Ask your customer what they thought of your service. Give them a choice of liked or needs improvement. If they select needs improvement direct them to a form that they can submit with some constructive criticism. If they liked your service send them to a Google review (or whatever platform you are using).

Reviews will not only help customers make buying decisions, but they will also help raise your business to the top of the page on search engines. Get out and get those reviews.
