Hey, we've been cranking out yard signs lately. They're $20 apiece one side, $30 for 2 sides, or $15/$25 apiece if you order 5 or more. I know yall got rummage sales and graduation parties and such coming as we get closer to spring and summer, so hit me up.

These are some i had commissioned by a local group and I bet you can guess what theyre all about.

If it takes less than a half hour to make your design I won't charge a design fee.

hey, just an update. I had a client decide to go their separate way today. That's fine. If anyone decides they want to go elsewhere, I have the option to release your files, but I am not legally or morally obligated to do so. I double checked laws and all that just to see where I stand in the situation.

So release of files would require a complete settlement of all outstanding debts, whether you believe they exist or not, or a minimum $50 release fee (if no outstanding debt exists), plus $10 for a thumb drive if that's how you want them handed off. If it's just a couple files I can gmail you, then no drive fee. Plus, if we homies and you square up on the reg, I'd probably just let the release fee slide, so long as we're squared up on design time and all that. Sometimes it is cheaper or easier to get it done online or whatever.

However, if such a time comes where I ended this endeavor completely, I'd just release all their files to their respective owners to eschew any disputes or other potential headaches.

Hey, it's after the first and jobs are trickling in.

I got the printer working pretty well. I can print most things and if need be, I'll subcontract to an online source and we'll just charge whatever they charge plus a flat handling fee and whatever for my design time, so no upcharge unless there's an exceptional situation.

But as I said, everything prints pretty well, as long as there's not a big patch of solid blue in it. Again, I have resources to subcontract. Until I generate enough business to justify a bigger printer, I'm talking to some local sources to print larger stuff and online sources for colors that aren't working right.

Also, as with many other small businesses, I've had to raise my prices slightly. 30% more to everything I usually did (rounded to the nearest even number) and $15 an hr design time with a 1 hr minimum for all new orders. If you're a repeat customer, all I gotta do is hit print, so you good.

OK, I messed with it some more and its about 99%. I swear, im about to push this thing out the fvxkin window. The blue is still off by a shade, but everything else seems normal. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks for your patience.

12/07/2025

ok, nevermind, folks. I think the printer just s**t. Not sure what's wrong with it now. I sure as hell don't want to throw anymore money at it. So I'll still take your design jobs, but I'll have to subcontract printing online or to another local supplier until such point that I decide whether I'm going to buy a new printer or rely on other suppliers.

I've honestly been looking into this option because I don't have the space to expand and I can get things printed online for close to what it costs to do them at home, so I think I'm going to revise the business model. The turnaround time is gonna go through the floor. Think a week or two, not 24 hrs.

Another issue I've had is that it's extremely hard to get a tech up here to do a repair job, even with a warranty. I waited 3 months last time to get someone up here. I lost roughly $1,000 a month by my estimates. That sucks. So, we're going to retool here a bit and go from there with a slightly modified business model. I enjoy doing this, but it's messy, expensive, and when I don't have things moving along I've just got a big hunk of machinery taking up a corner of my office and making noise when it does self-cleaning cycles at 2 in the morning.

Anyway, if someone has a small job they'd like to get done, I'd like to guinea pig that with some online services. Either that or I'll just guinea pig my own stuff.

still having some issues. Now the blue is acting up. It's probably an air bubble and we're still printing. So long as you're not printing a large field of solid blue, we're good to go until I square it away.

12/02/2025

It looks like we're back in business. I got my ink today and ran some more test prints to see if the repairs I did made the difference and it looks good. I'm printing a job as I type this. So, bring me your stuff. We're printing again. Thanks for your patience.

11/30/2025

Hey, good news all. I believe I got the printer about straightened out. I ran out of ink while I was running clean and test print cycles, so it's not back to 100%, but I got it to quit doing that color mixing crap, so I think we're out of the woods. I just gotta wrap up the process and run a few test files of actual work to see how it acts.

So yea, just about back up. I'll let you all know when I'm at 100% and taking jobs again.

I've replaced some parts this afternoon and while the issue isn't resolved, it is better. I've got some more stuff en route to replace.

In the meantime, I am about 90% operational. As long as your print doesn't involve any large yellow patches, we're good to go. I printed two large photos this evening. They turned out great. I printed some monochromatic stickers this weekend and they're fantastic.

So I can still do most print projects right now, just no yellow. Not yet.

Here's a "banner" I did for the Crossroads Collective today. I put banner in quotes because I actually used photo canvas, which seems to darken images. I set it next to a photo of my daughter I printed last year as a comparison. Also, that's my favorite picture of her, just living her best life right there.

You can see the original in the second image, which I believe was AI. You can tell because things aren't quite lined up right, spacing is off, the fonts are partial serif? (I don't think that's a real thing). So I redrew the client's art, vectorized it for later projects, and redid the arrangement with proper fonts and added in the drop shadow.

Anyway, If 18" by however long banners are your thing, I can get a 20" roll of banner material if someone actually wants to do a narrow, long-ish banner. I'm sure the colors will be more vivid on proper banner material.

Effective January 2026 I'll be implementing some minor price increases.

Labor will be going from $10 an hour to $15 an hour.

Products will experience a 20% price increase due to increases in material costs.

I know that sounds like a lot, but it means a 25 cent sticker will be 30 cents. A $10 yard sign will be $12. I've compared pricing with other graphics companies and even with these minor increases I can more than beat their pricing.

This is partially inspired by, as I mentioned, material cost increases, maintenance costs on hardware, and the fact that more than a few clients have said, "oh my god, you should charge more. You're not getting paid much at all". Well, I'll continue to keep this as it has always been; a lucrative hobby. Emphasis on "lucrative". If it costs me money to provide my services, then I don't have a very good business model, now do I?

Plus I need to start working towards a larger machine so I can provide more services, such as full vehicle wraps, large banners, and large scale garment printing. My present machine can only print about 1 t-shirt vinyl at a time. This has held me back from entering the garment industry, which many of my clients have requested.

If you have any questions, comments, and concerns then feel free to drop them here or message me directly. Thanks for your support.

Hey, we're having some technical difficulties. The printer is going to need some maintenance. In the meantime, I'm going to keep printing what I can until I can get some parts around and install them.

The issue is with the blue and yellow. They're bleeding together. Should be something simple. So for now, if you've got a job with a lot of yellow then maybe hold off for a minute. As far as greens go, it's printing green, but it's a little heavy on the blue, so it's off by a shade. If that's not an issue, then come on down. If it is then let's hold off a bit. Thanks for your understanding and sorry for the inconvenience.

Like I said, should be something simple. I just gotta wait on a couple checks to come in and I'll get some parts ordered up and get on it.
