I recently tagged American Airlines in a Facebook post and within minutes multiple fake "American Airlines Support" accounts started following me.

These scammers search Facebook for keywords like airline names, banks, PayPal, Amazon, Microsoft, and more. They often send friend requests, follow you, or message you pretending to be customer support.

Never send these accounts your: • Booking confirmation or reservation number • Passwords • Credit card information • Verification codes • Driver's license or passport

If you need help, contact the company through its official website, app, or verified page, not through random accounts that suddenly follow or message you.

Stay safe and share this with someone who travels frequently.

Another successful IT call tonight.

A customer thought their phone had a virus because they were getting constant pop-ups and security warnings. After a little troubleshooting, it turned out to be a rogue "phone cleaner" app causing the problem.

The phone is back to normal, and it's always satisfying to solve a problem instead of just replacing a device.

Technology is changing fast.

If you haven't been paying attention, many online services are moving toward stronger age verification requirements. Depending on the app, your location, and local laws, you may eventually be asked to verify your age before accessing certain features or content.

Whether you agree with it or not, it's a trend worth watching.

🚨 3 Signs You’re Being Scammed (Happening More Often in Iowa)

I saw the Clinton County Sheriff's Office Iowa post today and wanted to share a few quick things to watch for. Scams are getting more sophisticated every year.

1. Urgency or threats
They say things like “you’ll be arrested today” or “your account will be closed immediately.”

2. Strange payment methods
Bitcoin, gift cards, or “secure kiosks.” Legit organizations don’t do this.

3. They tell you not to talk to anyone
Scammers don’t want you calling family, banks, or police because someone else will recognize the scam.

If something feels wrong, hang up and call the organization directly using the number from their official website.
