Today's security solutions fall short, in that they do not address attacks in process. But once past these traditional defenses there is nothing stopping the attack. Digital Immunity takes a different approach, we build a DNA map of an application and run along side it in memory, validating every function while it is happening. If an attack tries to execute we see it and stop it dead in its tracks.

On November 20, 2015 Starwood Hotels announced that they had been infected by malware that was among other things was trying to get at their customer credit card information. Shortly after that on November 25, 2015 Hilton Hotel chain released similar information about a malware infection. Is it because of the holiday season brings more people to hotels? I don't think so. Hotels always are trying to achieve the highest occupancy rate regardless of the season. Is it an easy target? Perhaps. Regardless of the motive we have to ask ourselves "Even if we are very careful when we go online, how can we be sure the vendor we are dealing with has adequate protection?".

It is very interesting that on Cyber Monday over 125 million Americans made a purchase online. If you take out the elderly, and children that is most of the adult population. Ten years ago everyone was afraid to shop online. They were afraid that their credit card information would be stolen. What happened? Do we think the bad guys gave up? Do we think we have all the security we need to stop them?

The short answer is, like anything people to get use to the situation. Today most people don't think much about security when they shop online; or certainly not enough to stop them.

The bad guys are still out there, and they are getting more sophisticated. Luckily more sophisticated apps. (like Digital Immunity) are coming out to help stop them.
