It’s time to share the wonderful opportunity I had to build with Michelle Vallelunga Arnold a Beetlejuice Sandworm for Poison Apple Productions. Displayed at JTF West as part of the New Works showcase of Beetlejuice Jr. Needing something for a theater in the round that was big but could move like a dragon puppet, my wife and I collaborated using bamboo, EVA foam, pvc, 4 types of glue and more here.

🎶 So I went and built a Snowman...but I need to finish not only a snowman...on to Sven 🎶

My wife and I collaborated to build a snowman puppet. He has a trigger mouth, and eye blink mech. He is in four parts. A floating head, a torso that braces around the leg, and two feet that strap on the actor’s boots. The feet and upper torso are carved foam. The head is flat patterned from clay. I then used paper towels to pattern the fur. The arms are carved Eva foam with long arm rods. So much fun to build. Go see poisonappleproductions
