Is your battery not holding a charge like it used to? Check the date code (see below), it may be time for a new battery!
Most batteries will start to fade after about 2 years, but there are some things you can do to ensure you get the most life out of your battery:
1. Don’t leave the radio turned on while it is charging. Turning the radio off and allowing it to charge overnight is best practice.
2. Don’t leave the radio in the charger all of the time. If the radio is turned on, it should be removed from the charger to allow the battery to discharge.
3. Drain the battery as much as possible, even letting it go dead completely sometimes before charging your radio. This allows the battery to go through a full charge cycle.
