20 Years.
In 2003, my dad bought me my first Roland GX-24 vinyl cutter and we set up shop in the race shop. Over the first few years, it started growing fast. With his help, we started something that has turned into a full-time gig during the winter months. My cousin, Stevie, got me in touch with Mike Miller and he wanted me to come to his shop and do his fleet of ARDC Midgets right out of the gate. At the end of 2013, I moved to Mechanicsburg and started a family. Most of my customers followed and I subbed out all my printing to Aaron Ott for the next year. At the end of 2014, with my wife’s support, we converted our garage area to my sign shop and bought equipment to expand into wide format printing. In late 2022, I sold my machine and purchased the latest and greatest Roland Printer to set me up for the future.
Over the last few years, as I was “scaling” back, the numbers of cars I did grew but after months of conversation and consideration, I will be stepping and scaling back. As most of current customers know, I carry a full-time job and do this while everyone else is sleeping. I am very fortunate to be in the position I am in, but it is time to focus on my last years of racing with my Dad, my career job, and most importantly, spending more time with Allison and Morgan.
I never would have thought back in 2003 my business would grow to be what it is today and the sole reason for that is you, the customer. Thank you for letting me use your car as a blank canvas to show off my artwork. It doesn’t matter if I did one car or 20 for you, thank you. I would like to thank my parents for helping me to get started on this journey and my in-laws for helping me expand over the years. Especially, I would like to thank my wife Allison, for the unconditional support as my business expanded over the years.
Moving forward I will still be designing and lettering but in a much lesser role. For the 2024 season and beyond I will be doing one car a week. I will start blocking off time for the 2024 season in November. If you miss your date, I will reschedule, but it might not happen for weeks or months once the off season hits. The car does not have to be race-ready for me to letter it, I prefer just a frame and body.
Once again, thank you for your support over the last 20 years and I am looking forward to the next 20, but only in a different capacity.
Please post any pictures of your car(s) I have done over the last 20 years.
