🎮 Since we're all about technology at Pierson, we decided to transport our HR Director, Jen, into a video game world for this year's Walk to End Alzheimer's.

Unfortunately, defeating Alzheimer's isn't as easy as pressing "Start" or unlocking a cheat code.

We’re honored to highlight one of the recipients of our Thanks for Giving Initiative: Greenlight Operation.

Greenlight Operation exists to prevent and combat human trafficking while providing restorative care and long-term support for survivors throughout Cumberland and Dauphin Counties.

As part of this initiative, Pierson Computing Connection donated two Interactive Flat Panels to support their mission. One panel was installed at Greenlight Operation’s Resource Center located in Mechanicsburg, while the second will be utilized in their career and coaching room at their Restoration Home in Dauphin County.

These spaces play an important role in helping survivors continue their education, earn certifications, prepare for the workforce, and build sustainable independent futures. The technology will support classes, coaching sessions, and educational opportunities led by instructors and community volunteers, helping enhance the learning experience for the women they serve.

We are grateful for organizations like Greenlight Operation that are making a meaningful impact every day and are proud to support their mission through technology that empowers, educates, and restores hope.

“Can we make a few small changes after approval and keep the same price?”

In the AV world, small changes are rarely just small changes.

Adding displays, moving equipment, changing layouts, or adjusting scope can impact programming, labor, infrastructure, scheduling, and overall system design behind the scenes.

What TO Do Instead ✅
Communicate scope changes early and process them through a change order so everyone stays aligned on expectations, timelines, and costs.

Clear communication = smoother projects and better outcomes for everyone involved.

Mother’s Day may have been yesterday, but stories like this deserve to be celebrated every day. 💙

Some businesses are built in boardrooms.
Pierson was built in a dining room — with a six-month-old baby banging on a baby gate nearby.

In 1993, Debra Pierson founded Pierson Computing Connection at just 25 years old with one goal in mind: creating a flexible career while raising her daughter.

What started as a mother building a business around family became a nationally recognized technology company serving customers across the country.

Over the years, Deb balanced customer demands, employee needs, and raising two daughters — guided not by perfection, but by her core values.

As Deb once shared:
“Determining each and every day which need had priority depended on my personal core values... For me it was all about overall balance, not some semblance of perfection on a daily basis.”

Today, the daughter who once sat behind that baby gate is now grown — and so is the company built from those early days of determination, sacrifice, and motherhood.
