🔧 FIX IT FRIDAY 🔧
😳 November 2024?! Yeah… we’ve got some catching up to do!
This HP came in and Windows Update showed it hadn’t checked for updates in quite a while. That means important security fixes, bug fixes, drivers, and system improvements could be missing. 💻⚠️
🔧 Today’s Fix:
✅ Checked for all available Windows updates
✅ Installed required system updates
✅ Updated HP components/drivers
✅ Restarted and checked again for anything remaining
✅ Made sure Windows was properly up to date
💡 Tech Tip:
Don’t let your Windows updates pile up for months. Staying updated helps keep your computer secure, stable, and running properly.

⏰ Is your PC living in the wrong time zone? 😳💻
Yesterday we talked about how the wrong date and time can cause websites, updates, and security features to act up.
Today, let’s check it!
**Windows 11**
1️⃣ Click **Start**
2️⃣ Open **Settings**
3️⃣ Select **Time & language**
4️⃣ Click **Date & time**
5️⃣ Make sure **Set time automatically** is ON ✅
6️⃣ Check that your **Time zone** is correct
7️⃣ Under **Additional settings**, click **Sync now**
💡 That simple check can solve problems that sometimes look much bigger than they really are.

💻 TECH TIP TUESDAY 💻
Not every laptop charger is the same.
A charger may fit your laptop and still not provide the right amount of power. That can lead to slow charging, battery drain while you’re using it, or a “plugged in, not charging” message.
💡 Before replacing the battery or the laptop, check the charger wattage first. Using the correct charger can make a big difference.

😂 Please don’t walk around with your iPhone looking like THIS!
This iPhone came in with the **back glass completely shattered** 😳📱
It may still turn on and work, but cracked back glass can mean:
⚠️ Sharp edges
💧 Less protection from moisture
🧹 Dirt and debris getting inside
📱 Damage getting worse over time
A phone case might cover it up… but it doesn’t repair the damage. 😂
💡 Fix It Friday Reminder:
If the back of your iPhone is cracked this badly, it’s worth getting it checked before a cosmetic problem turns into something bigger.

Before your next Zoom, Teams, or video call, take 60 seconds to test your setup.
👉 On Windows 11:
1️⃣ Go to **Start → Settings → System → Sound**
2️⃣ Check that the correct **microphone and speakers** are selected
3️⃣ Test your microphone and make sure Windows is picking up your voice
4️⃣ Open the **Camera** app and make sure your we**am looks good 📸
💡 A quick check before the meeting can save you from scrambling when it’s time to talk.

💻 TECH TIP TUESDAY 💻
🖥️ Got a graphics card? Check where your monitor is plugged in.
On a desktop with a dedicated GPU, your HDMI or DisplayPort cable should normally be connected to the **graphics card**, not the motherboard.
Plugging into the wrong port can mean:
⚠️ No display at all
⚠️ Using integrated graphics instead of your GPU
⚠️ Poor gaming performance
💡 Before assuming something is wrong with your PC, check the back of the computer and make sure your monitor is connected to the correct video port.

🖥️ BEFORE WINDOWS STARTS… YOUR BIOS IS ALREADY WORKING!
When you press the power button, Windows isn’t the first thing your PC loads. 👀
Your **BIOS/UEFI** starts first and helps your computer recognize important hardware like:
⚙️ CPU
💾 RAM
🚀 Storage drives
🌬️ Cooling fans
🎮 Other connected hardware
It also contains settings that can affect boot order, fan control, memory settings, and hardware compatibility.
💡 Monster Specs Tip:
A BIOS update can sometimes add hardware support or fix certain issues — but it should only be done when needed and with the correct update for your motherboard.
