MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR // Last week, six students from the Nampa Mayor's Teen Council visited Washington, D.C. for an educational experience.

The Mayor's Teen Council took full advantage of all the historic monuments and museums located in our nation's capitol. They also toured the U.S. Capitol, White House and Supreme Court, among many other activities while there.

Madilyn S., a sophomore at Skyview High School, shared about her experience, "One way I can remember honoring the significance of history and the process I learned was to remember how many people sacrificed their lives for our country. We learn this stuff in school, and they say numbers but no one usually actually thinks about it until they see it."

Thank you to all of our past State of the City sponsors who helped make this trip possible including: Republic Services, Saint Alphonsus, Advanced Control Systems, CapEd Credit Union, HDR , Consulting, St. Luke's Health System, TDS Telecommunications LLC, Clarity Credit Union, Horrocks, Idaho Power, Engineering Group, Parametrix and Stantec.

-Mayor Debbie
