MY FIRST SONY.
I chose Tulane University in New Orleans for 3 reasons. You could drink when you were 18, the weather was warm like Miami where I grew up, and Tulane had a liberal arts program in case I wanted to switch from Electrical Engineering.
Turns out, I nearly. flunked freshman 5 hour calculus, which was all math. I was interested in music and Hi-fi. So, I switched to Biology. Herpetology (reptiles) had been my hobby. I never wanted to be a doctor. I finished with a degree in Biology.
I got this Sony TC-260 reel to reel as a high school graduation present. Here it is in my dorm room at Sharp Hall at Tulane. .. My roommate started working at The Mushroom record store, and so did I. I found this old barber shop a block away and rented it for $75 a month.
And now 53 years after opening that first store, and a year and a half after semi-retiring, I am again going to have regular retail store hours (although limited) because people keep calling for some Sound Advice.
