It's good to be back!

There are still many shops closed due to the recent flood, but many will be open this weekend and I know for certain we could all use your support. Some shops got it much worse than others, my wife at The Blue Umbrella Bistro and Bakery and myself here at Tarvin's were spared the worst of it and consider ourselves quite fortunate.

If you have some time this weekend swing through Metamora, look in on the rebuilding efforts, and patronize those of us that have been able to reopen if you can. Every dollar spent is appreciated and goes a long way to helping the town get back on its feet.

I thought I would have everything ready to open for this weekend but alas I'm going to need a few more days to straighten and organize everything so I'll remain closed this final weekend of August.

I WILL be re-opening Labor Day Weekend! Many other shops are aiming for that weekend as well, so, we really look forward to seeing you.

Reminder, Labor Day Weekend is also Metamora's annual music festival which is still on! So come down, eat, drink, shop, listen, and be merry!

Update on the flood damage. Overall we got off lucky, there were between 2 and 4 inches of water throughout the premises. I lost maybe two or three hundred dollars worth of goods, nothing too crazy. The carpet is needing a lot of TLC but we've vacuumed most out and are in the process of shampooing. A lot of moving shelving, arcade cabs, counters, etc... around and back and the stock is in complete disarray at the moment. I'll not be opening this upcoming weekend but expect to be open and better than ever the following.

Thanks to everyone that's reached out and offered help and kind words, I appreciate it. Good to go down here, many people got it much, much worse.

Due to flooding I most likely won't be open this weekend. Apologies for the inconvenience. The good news is I had the foresight to go in yesterday and move most everything off of the floor so no cards or products should be damaged, depending on the depth of the water, of course.

The rain has really cut down traffic today so I'll be leaving early. If you planned on coming in just shoot me a message and I'll be happy to ride down and open for you, I'm only a few minutes away. See you tomorrow for Children's Day!
