⭐️ Meta made headlines last week with the announcement of new VR glasses with AR capabilities to be released in October. The latest feature described by Mark Zuckerberg is an eye and facial tracking feature, meaning your avatar will now smile when you smile and frown when you frown. More to be announced at Meta's annual Connect event in October.
⭐️ Lenovo announced new VR glasses with AR capabilities last week called the Legion VR700. The headset is being positioned as a rival to Meta’s Quest 2. The completely cordless headset is Lenovo’s third VR headset and is the first headset in their range made for everyday consumers, not just enterprise users, like their previous headsets.
⭐️ Nreal just received an investment of $15 million from South Korean eyewear brand IICOMBINED. The AR smartglasses developer is planning on ‘expanding the appeal of AR to broader audience bases, as part of its promise of AR for consumers everywhere.’ Nreal is traditionally known as a developer for consumers and plans on growing in the US market.
⭐️ Apple’s largest event of the year is taking place next week, September 7th, but thats not the only news. Apple is continuing to apply for trademarks with the word reality. This time its ‘Reality One’ and ‘Reality Pro’. So, are we getting Apple's fabled glasses next week?
