Affine DeFi is announcing our $5.1 million seed round led by Hack VC and Jump Crypto with participation from Coinbase Ventures, Circle Ventures, and others.

DeFi has shown tremendous promise over the last 3 years, but the proliferation of new chains, projects, and strategies has made it increasingly difficult to navigate.

Affine is helping users tackle the challenges of investing in the space by providing diversified, sustainable yields from multiple protocols, and impermanent loss protection for liquidity providing (LPing) in exchanges (DEX).

The flagship basket, USD Earn, provides automated diversification and yield via LP strategies typically only available to the most sophisticated investors.

Affine is live on Polygon and Ethereum. Currently, the protocol uses Uniswap, Sushiswap, AAVE, Convex, etc., to generate the yield. We aim to expand on other blockchains and protocols as well.

These funds will help accelerate our mission to bring the benefits of DeFi to the next 100M users by continuing to research new strategies and support the development of Affine Protocol.

This post will give you a high-level overview of how Affine protocol works.
Let’s explore below –

1. Affine’s starts with diversified, self-rebalancing baskets 🧺

These baskets are comprised of multiple strategies ranging from simple ones — like lending USDC on Aave and Compound — to more complex strategies such as single-sided liquidity providing on Uniswap v3.

2. Single Sided Liquidity🔂

By starting with a single asset like USDC, users can now access strategies that borrow collateral (eg. ETH), deposit the assets into a pool (eg. Uniswap v3 ETH-USDC), and then adjust concentration automatically.

3. Automation and Impermanent Loss Minimization 🏁🤖

Providing liquidity to AMMs can a meaningful source of yield, but not without risk. Affine bots automate the process of adjusting liquidity concentration and even divesting during periods of high volatility to help minimize impermanent loss. This is the main roadblock to providing liquidity in a sustainable way.

4. Access for all👥

What used to be out of reach strategies for most can now be accessed in a simple, trustless way. Affine is non-custodial, meaning that your assets are held by smart contracts on-chain and locked up by you.
