Nick and I met in high school, he’s a couple years older than me and left to join the army while I was still in school. We had tried to make things work once while I was still in high school when he had recently graduated boot camp. But with the nature of high school and him being so far away it didn’t work out the way we planned.
That’s okay, everything happens for a reason. I remember telling my best friend the first time I saw him that I’d marry him one day. Lol. We reconnected a few years later and the rest was history ♡ We got married in Fort Bragg North Carolina on Memorial Day weekend in what felt like an 100 degree day in jeans and t-shirts.

Many of the traditions and achievements that we share in the Army make little sense to people who have never worn the uniform. The “Combat Patch” is one such tradition.

These patches signify both currently attached units a soldier serves on the left sleeve, as well as the prior unit attached to while serving in a combat zone for a specified period of time on the right.Tradition.

Oh hey 👋🏼

It’s a photo since COVID has cancelled school in person, but here’s a humble brag for ya!

I am now the FIRST person in my entire family tree to ever go to college and earn a degree. I completed my Associates Degree, 💰 DEBT FREE 💰, courtesy of the Marine Corps. I will have my Bachelor’s Degree in September of 2021, once again, 💰 DEBT FREE 💰, courtesy of the Marine Corps.
