Half of All Mobile Phones Are Smart
According to new research from Nielsen as of February 2012 almost half of mobile phone subscribers (49.7%) now own smartphones, up 38% from last February when only 36% of subscribers owned smart phones. More than two-thirds of those who bought a phone in the last three months chose a smart phone, according to the Nielsen Research. http://blog.nielsen.com/nielsenwire/online_mobile/smartphones-account-for-half-of-all-mobile-phones-dominate-new-phone-purchases-in-the-us

Almost half (49.7%) of U.S. mobile subscribers now own smartphones, as of February 2012. According to Nielsen, this marks an increase of 38 percent over last year; in February 2011, only 36 percent of mobile subscribers owned smartphones.
