With February 17 approaching, STIR/SHAKEN enforcement is forcing Attestation Level C risk, which is virtually a GAME OVER situation. In many cases, carriers will start signing your calls with Attestation C if you're a reseller.

📞 Tech Tip Thursday: Why Your Calls Might Show as “Spam Likely” and How to Fix It

Ever had customers say your calls show up as “Spam Likely” or “Scam Risk”? 😬

It’s frustrating, and it can cost your business valuable connections.

Here’s what’s happening:

Carriers and analytics providers use call behavior patterns (like call volume, short call durations, or complaints) to detect potential spam.

If your number gets flagged, it can display as Spam or Scam on recipients’ phones, even if you’re a legitimate business.

✅ The Fix: Register Your Numbers

The Free Caller Registry is a portal used by the major analytics companies (Hiya, First Orion, TNS).

By registering your business phone numbers:

You prove you’re a legitimate caller

You can request your caller ID reputation be reviewed

You reduce the risk of being mislabeled as spam

📌 Pro Tip: Also make sure your business name, number, and calling practices are consistent and accurate across the web and phone systems.

Tech Tip Thursday 🚀

Good VoIP isn’t just about having “fast internet.” Speed tests tell you bandwidth, but they don’t measure what really impacts call quality.

Here’s what to check instead:
🔹 Packet loss – When data packets never arrive. Even 1 to 2 percent loss can create choppy or robotic audio.
🔹 Jitter – When packets arrive at uneven intervals. This can cause delays, echoes, or words cutting out.
🔹 Latency – The delay between sending and receiving. Above 150ms, conversations feel awkward.

✅ Run a packet loss and jitter test alongside your speed test. A stable connection matters more than raw speed.
