STOP REUSING THE SAME PASSWORD.

If you use the same password for your main email as you do for a random online store, a security breach at that store gives hackers the keys to your entire digital life.

This goes for anything you need a password for.

You should always use a different password for anything you do online.

Make it unique and long.

We suggest at least 2 numbers, 2 special characters and 2 CAPS.
EX: PassWordExample567&^%

Microsoft will NEVER ask you to call them.
If you get a terrifying pop-up on your screen with a 1-800 number claiming you have a virus, it is 100% a scam.
Don't panic and definitely don't call the number.

If you get a message that says don't shut down or turn off your computer with loud beeping siren noises, it is 100% a scam.
Just force close your browser or restart your PC.
Do this by hitting CTL, ALT, DEL at the same time.
When you restart your computer DO NOT refresh.
Close any open windows and restart completely over.
If you refresh nothing was cleared out.

KEEP YOUR LAPTOPS OFF THE BED, COUCH OR ANY SOFT FURNITURE. 💻❌🛏️
Laptops need to breathe.
Setting them on blankets, pillows, or your lap blocks the cooling vents.
This causes the laptop to overheat, which instantly slows down performance and permanently damages the hardware over time. ALWAYS use a hard, flat surface.

Did you leave your laptop charger at home? YES

Have a Type C phone charger handy? YES

Look on the side of the laptop.
Does it have the port in the picture?
Should have the symbol that looks like a D with a P inside of it

THEN YOUR IN LUCK.
In a pinch you can charge your laptop using that Type C charger.
It will charge slow and take longer but it will work till you can get your normal charger.

DO NOT use this as an everyday charger.

Computer seems frozen and says you have a virus?
Can't seem to make the message go away?

Press
CTRL + ALT + Del

Sign out
(This will close all open programs)

Sign back in to windows and you're good to go

When you open your browser again, it may ask if you want to re-open or restore the previous session, IGNORE it.
If you restore the previous session, you'll get that "virus" warning again.

Sleep Mode's a Thief; Power Off for Battery Relief!

How do you turn your laptop off?

If you are just shutting the screen you're not powering the laptop off.

Make sure to power off the laptop at least once a week to save the battery.
