Dead batteries by morning is one of the most common dry camping complaints. Sometimes it's the battery itself. But if your system isn't actively managing the draw overnight, even healthy batteries can deplete faster than they should. We broke down how load management works and what questions to ask about your own setup.

If you've ever tripped a breaker running the microwave and AC at the same time, that's not a wiring problem. It's a load management problem. We broke down how RV energy management actually works, what the difference is between monitoring and control, and why most power headaches come down to one thing. Link in the comments.

Have you noticed your slide rooms moving a little slower than usual on these chilly mornings? Don’t panic! Cold weather can make rubber seals stiff and mechanical parts a bit sluggish.

You can help your slides move smoothly with a little bit of patience. Before you hit the button, walk around the outside and make sure your exterior seals are free of ice or heavy frost.

Inside the coach, let your furnace run for about 20 minutes before moving the slides. Warming the interior helps soften those seals so they slide much easier. Also, check your voltage on your Firefly screen. Slides need plenty of power, and since cold batteries can struggle, you want to make sure your levels are solid before you start.

A little warmth makes for a much smoother departure! Read more winter troubleshooting tips on our blog.

Waking up to low water pressure on a freezing morning is never a fun surprise. But here is a pro tip: Sometimes the issue isn't your RV at all, it is actually your water hose!

You can avoid the "big freeze" with a few easy checks before the next cold front hits. If you aren't using a heated hose, simply disconnect your standard freshwater hose and bring it inside overnight.

On your Firefly control panel, make sure your tank heaters are activated well before the sun goes down. It also helps to leave the cabinet doors under your sinks cracked open. This lets the warm cabin air reach your plumbing and prevents those hidden frozen lines.

Do your batteries seem to be draining faster than usual lately? You are not imagining things! Cold temperatures naturally change how batteries perform, especially if you are running a lithium system.

You can keep your power steady by practicing a few simple winter habits. Start by watching those big power draws. Space heaters and microwaves pull a lot of energy, so check your battery levels on your Firefly screen before you turn them on.

Don't forget to account for "silent" loads too. Your tank heaters and furnace blowers are working overtime in the background when it is freezing out. Most importantly, remember that many batteries actually charge better once the RV interior reaches a comfortable temperature.

Stay powered up for your next winter adventure! Read the full breakdown on our blog.

Is your RV taking a little longer to shake off the morning chill? That first freezing trip of the year can be a big wake up call for your heating system! Before you worry about a system failure, try these quick owner-friendly checks to get the air moving again.

First, verify your heat source. Many RVs switch between a heat pump and a furnace. If it is extra cold outside, your heat pump might struggle, meaning it is time to switch over to propane furnace mode to get the job done.

Next, do a quick walk-through to clear the path. Double check that your floor and cabinet vents are open and unblocked so the warm air can actually reach you. Finally, just give it a minute! Just like us, your coach needs a little time to "wake up" and circulate air after a long, cold night.

A little prep goes a long way toward a cozy winter getaway. Check out our latest blog post for the full troubleshooting guide!
