CMMC Phase 2 just got paused. If you are a defense contractor, you are probably wondering whether to pump the brakes on your compliance work.

Short answer: do not.

The underlying security controls and NIST 800-171 requirements that CMMC certifies are still in place. DFARS 7012 obligations have not changed. And prime contractors are largely staying the course with their own subcontractor requirements regardless of what the Pentagon announced.
