🚨 SECURITY ALERT: Fake ChatGPT Outage Pages Spreading Malware 🚨

Cybercriminals are now abusing ChatGPT share links to trick users into downloading malware.

Here's how the scam works:

🔹 You click a link that appears to be a ChatGPT page.
🔹 The page claims ChatGPT is experiencing an outage or needs an update.
🔹 You're prompted to download a "new version" or "desktop client."
🔹 The download is actually malware designed to infect your computer.

⚠️ Remember:

✅ Only download ChatGPT from official sources.
✅ Never install software because a webpage claims a service is down.
✅ Be cautious of links from ads, social media posts, or unexpected emails.
✅ When in doubt, verify before you click.

Scammers are getting more creative every day, and even legitimate websites can be abused to make scams look convincing.

If you're unsure whether something is legitimate, feel free to reach out before downloading anything.

Today, before the holiday comes to an end, everyone at PC Design would like to take a moment to thank all veterans, active service members, and especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸

Because of your courage, sacrifice, and dedication, small local businesses like ours have the freedom and opportunity to exist and serve our community every day. We never take that for granted.

Thank you to all military families as well, whose support and sacrifices often happen quietly behind the scenes.

Wishing everyone a safe and peaceful Memorial Day.

💻 PC Design Tip of the Day 💻

If your computer suddenly starts acting “weird” — slowdowns, pop-ups, browser tabs opening on their own, printer issues, random passwords not working — don’t ignore it and hope it fixes itself.

A lot of major computer problems start as small warning signs.

One of the smartest things you can do:
✅ Back up your important files regularly
✅ Keep Windows updated
✅ Don’t click links from unexpected emails or texts
✅ If something feels “off,” trust your gut

I’ve seen many situations where catching a problem early saved customers from losing photos, QuickBooks files, or important documents.

Need help with a stubborn PC issue, Wi-Fi trouble, printer headaches, virus cleanup, or just want a second opinion before buying a new computer?

⚠️ Heads up—important Windows security update coming in 2026

Microsoft recently announced that older security certificates used by Windows will start expiring in June 2026.

Sounds scary—but it’s really not… as long as your computer is up to date.

🛠️ The problem?
A lot of systems I see every week:

Haven’t had updates in a while
Have Secure Boot turned off
Or never had firmware updates done

That’s where issues could happen down the road.

✅ I’m offering a quick “2026 Readiness Check” where I’ll:

Make sure your system is fully updated
Verify security settings
Check for important system updates

👍 Quick, simple, and gives you peace of mind

🚨 Microsoft Warns: Windows 11 Updates May Trigger BitLocker Recovery 🔐💻
Some Windows 11 updates can force users to enter their BitLocker recovery key after restart 😳
⚡ What’s Happening:
✅ Update may trigger BitLocker security check
✅ System asks for recovery key on boot
✅ Happens after certain updates or hardware changes
✅ Users locked out without key ❌
⚠️ Important:
👉 Save your BitLocker recovery key NOW
👉 Check your Microsoft account or backup location
🤯 Why It Matters:
