Digital Bridge

Digital Bridge Non-Profit e-Waste Recycler. Refurbishing old tech and putting it in new hands.

Digital Bridge works to open up new opportunities to impoverished people in our local and global communities who have been left behind in technology. By working with local nonprofits to provide technical service and computer lab donations, we’ve implemented over 20 computer labs spanning across three continents. Our impact has reached as far as improving the quality of education in rural Kenya to

providing tools to find employment in inner city Milwaukee. We believe that poverty can be further diminished through technology access from the goodwill of partnered nonprofits and large entity sponsors. At Digital Bridge, our goal is to turn one person’s trash into another’s treasure. In the spirit of the open source movement, we have made our processes available so others can join our mission and help us create a better world.

We’re excited and grateful to partner with Data Holdings Data Center Milwaukee’s premier data center, to help advance more sustainable technology practices across our community.

Data Holdings understands that responsible stewardship goes beyond infrastructure. By partnering with Digital Bridge, they’re helping ensure retired technology can be reused, recycled responsibly, and redirected toward creating greater digital access for those who need it most.

We’re proud to work alongside organizations that are committed to making a meaningful impact in Milwaukee and beyond.

We’re proud to share that Digital Bridge has been awarded a $30,000 grant through the Wisconsin Public Service Commission’s Nonprofit Access Program to help expand equitable digital access in Milwaukee.

This support will help connect more individuals and households to the technology they need to access education, employment, healthcare, and essential online services, while continuing to keep valuable electronics out of landfills through responsible reuse.

Thank you to Gov. Tony Evers and the PSC for supporting this important work.

Some partnerships create impact far beyond technology.

Thanks to support from the Associated Bank Foundation, we recently helped provide laptops to Black Business Enterprises in Minneapolis, helping expand access to opportunity for entrepreneurs, families and community members who need it most.

As Executive Director Nancy Korsah shared:

“For many of the families and entrepreneurs we serve, access to technology means the ability to apply for jobs, complete training programs, grow their businesses, and simply have more opportunity at their fingertips. This gift creates real mobility.”

We’re grateful to work alongside organizations like Black Business Enterprises and the Associated Bank Foundation that understand access to technology is about more than devices. It’s about economic opportunity, empowerment and connection.

Together, we’re helping ensure technology fuels access, not landfills.

In honor of Earth Day, we were on site at Hydrite today, enjoying the sunshine and working alongside their team to fill more than two bins with e-waste.

Thank you to Dave Schilz, IT End User Support Manager, for the tour and for sharing how sustainability is embedded in Hydrite's operations.

This is one of several employee e-waste drives happening across Wisconsin this month. We are incredibly grateful for our partners who continue to show up.

Happy Earth Day! And thank you, Hydrite!

Another meaningful delivery this week for the Digital Bridge team.

Through our partnership with United Way, we delivered 150 refurbished laptops to Word of Hope Ministries in Milwaukee. These devices will help support the many programs they offer to strengthen individuals and families across the community.

We are grateful to partner with organizations that are deeply rooted in their neighborhoods and committed to uplifting the people they serve every day.

Thank you to the teams at United Way and Word of Hope Ministries for the important work you do. We are honored to help ensure the technology needed for learning, connection, and opportunity reaches the community.

Just another week at Digital Bridge.

This week, our team delivered laptops for United Way Techquity distribution events at The Goodman Community Center in Dane County and at United Way’s Vine Street location in downtown Milwaukee, while also bringing devices to Literacy Services of Wisconsin to support their learners.

At the same time, we were on the road picking up retired technology from partners in Madison, Northern Illinois, Green Bay and beyond.

It is a steady cycle: Collect. Remove all data. Refurbish. Redeploy.

We are putting on the miles so more people can access the tools they need for school, work and connection. Grateful for the partners who trust us with their retired tech and for the community organizations who help get devices into the right hands.

Today, our team delivered 50 refurbished laptops to United Way in Janesville.

In the scope of what we refurbish each year, 50 is a small number. But the impact of even one computer can be life changing.

One device can mean applying for a job. Finishing homework at home. Accessing telehealth. Managing finances. Staying connected.

When organizations choose Digital Bridge for secure, responsible e-waste recycling, they are not just protecting data and keeping technology out of landfills. They are helping expand opportunity across Wisconsin.

Grateful to United Way for their partnership and for putting these devices directly into the hands of people who need them most.

If your company has retired equipment ready for pickup, let’s connect.
