For those who don't know how to close an app on iOS (iPhone) here is a link on how to do so. We have received a lot of emails on people getting stuck on the update. This method of closing apps on your phone was introduced in 2017.

If an app won’t respond or seems frozen, you can close it, then open it again.

Posts like this really make all the long nights worth it.

I honestly couldn’t even begin to count the number of hours I’ve spent sitting behind a computer writing code, fixing bugs, testing changes, deploying new services, breaking things, fixing them again, and constantly trying to make ThinLine Radio better.

A lot of what goes into this project happens completely behind the scenes. Sometimes it’s weeks or months of work before anyone ever sees the result. ThinLine Radio has grown into something much bigger than I ever imagined, and seeing other scanner networks using the software, giving feedback, and recognizing the work that goes into it means a lot.

There is still a ton I want to accomplish, and I’m nowhere near finished.

Huge thank you to TSSN for the shoutout, and especially to every server operator, feed provider, tester, subscriber, and listener who continues to support ThinLine Radio.

Every bug report, suggestion, test, and even complaint helps move this project forward.

IMPORTANT: Please update ThinLine Radio

We've made some big improvements to audio playback and stability. To get them, you need to be on the latest version from the App Store or Google Play. This is a one-time step.

HOW TO UPDATE

iPhone / iPad:
1. Open the App Store
2. Tap your profile picture in the top right
3. Scroll down to see pending updates
4. Find ThinLine Radio and tap UPDATE

Android:
1. Open the Google Play Store
2. Tap your profile picture in the top right
3. Tap "Manage apps & device," then "Updates available"
4. Find ThinLine Radio and tap UPDATE

If you don't see it listed, search for ThinLine Radio in the store. If the button says OPEN instead of UPDATE, you're already up to date.

WHAT'S CHANGING GOING FORWARD

From here on, most of our updates will come to you directly inside the app instead of through the App Store or Google Play.

When an update is ready, you'll see a prompt in the app. Tap to download it, then fully close the app and reopen it to finish installing.

To fully close the app: swipe up from the bottom of your screen and swipe the ThinLine Radio window away, then tap the icon to reopen. Just backing out to your home screen isn't enough.

WHY WE'RE DOING THIS

Store updates can take days to get approved. Delivering updates in-app means we can push fixes out to you within hours instead. Occasionally a larger change will still require a full store update, and we'll post here when that happens.

🚨📡 Big things are happening at the **Ohio Radio Scanner Network!**

Today we completed a major antenna upgrade at our **Wadsworth location**, raising our receiving antenna to around **100 feet on the radio tower**! 🗼

We have already noticed an **amazing increase in signal strength and reception** since the upgrade, and we’re extremely excited about what this location is going to allow us to do moving forward.

We also can’t thank our **hosts at the Wadsworth location enough** for their continued support of Ohio RSN. Their support has given us the opportunity to build this location into something much bigger for the network. 🙌

This site will soon become our **second major Ohio RSN location** and will also serve as a **backup receiving location for other systems**, helping us improve reliability and redundancy across the network. 🔁📻

Up next is a **PC and receiver upgrade**, and once that is completed, we’ll have the ability to begin adding **more counties and additional coverage to Ohio RSN**. 🔥🗺️

We’re excited for what’s ahead. Stay tuned — the Wadsworth site is just getting started! 👀📡

Delaware, CORIS, and Franklin feeds have been restored. These feeds are provided by a Third Party, who was in the process of converting their platform over to the new ThinLine Radio System.

🚀 Faster App Updates Are Coming to ThinLine Radio!

We’re improving how mobile app updates are delivered, allowing us to push major updates, new features, bug fixes, and performance improvements to users much faster.

Previously, many changes required a full app update and approval through the Apple App Store or Google Play before reaching users. With our new update process, many improvements can now be delivered directly to the app without requiring users to manually download a new version.

What this means for you:

⚡ Faster access to new features
🛠️ Quicker bug fixes and improvements
📱 Fewer required app-store updates
🎧 A more reliable ThinLine Radio experience

Some updates may still require a traditional App Store or Google Play update, but this new process gives us much more flexibility to deliver important changes quickly.

Updates may be applied automatically after restarting the app.
