In my time in Public Service I got to know so many of the members of the North Royalton Fire Department and appreciate all they do to save lives in the community. I am saddened to learn the news this morning that NRFD had a firefighter killed last night at a house fire in Broadview Heights. They also had a second firefighter injured. Please join me in keeping the entire NRFD, their families, and all those impacted by this horrific house fire in your prayers.

🧠 **Our custom-trained Whisper AI transcription model is now achieving approximately 99% accuracy in recent testing on Ohio RSN!**

Public safety radio communications aren't always easy for traditional speech-to-text models to understand. Between radio interference, background noise, unit numbers, street names, and emergency terminology, getting accurate transcriptions can be challenging.

**We've been working to change that!** 🚀

✅ **11.5 hours of manually reviewed and corrected audio** from multiple ThinLine Radio servers, thanks to contributions from our server operators.

✅ **580 hours of weakly labeled public safety radio traffic** used in training to help the model better understand real-world radio communications.

✅ Extensive testing and refinement to improve transcription accuracy.

Behind this achievement was an **expensive weekend of intensive AI training using 8 rented GPUs** to help develop and refine our custom transcription model.

🚀📡 **INTRODUCING THINLINE RADIO CORE!**

**A HUGE upgrade is coming to Ohio RSN and ThinLine Radio, and I'm excited to finally share what I've been working on!** 🔥

This week, I'm putting a brand-new system called **ThinLine Radio Core** through its first real-world testing, and the results so far have been incredible!

🎧 **WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR OHIO RSN LISTENERS?**

Ever notice a radio transmission play twice? A call suddenly cut off? Or conversations playing out of order?

**That's exactly what Core is designed to fix!**

Currently, Ohio RSN receives radio traffic from multiple receiving sites. Each site independently records and sends transmissions to the server. While this helps provide coverage across a large area, it can sometimes cause duplicate calls, incomplete audio, or transmissions playing in the wrong order.

**Core completely changes how this works!** 💪

✅ **No More Duplicate Calls** — Multiple sites can hear the same transmission, but you'll only hear it once.

✅ **More Complete Audio** — If one receiving site loses a signal or cuts off early, Core can use a better recording from another site.

✅ **Calls in the Correct Order** — Transmissions are organized based on when they actually occurred on the radio, making conversations easier to follow.

✅ **Smarter Receiving Sites** — Instead of working independently, all receiving sites work together to deliver the best possible recording.

✅ **Less Bandwidth, Better Performance** — Only the site with the best recording uploads the audio, reducing unnecessary traffic between our receiving sites and servers.

**The goal? A cleaner, smarter, and more reliable listening experience for everyone!** 📻

This isn't just an Ohio RSN improvement. **ThinLine Radio Core is being developed as a new integration between SDRTrunk and ThinLine Radio!**

For anyone operating multiple SDRTrunk receiving sites monitoring the same radio system, Core introduces an entirely new way for those sites to communicate with your ThinLine Radio server.

Here's how it works:

📡 **Real-Time Communication** — SDRTrunk reports transmissions directly to ThinLine Radio as they happen.

🔄 **Multi-Site Coordination** — Core tracks the same transmission across multiple receiving sites and waits for each site to finish receiving it.

🏆 **Best Recording Wins** — Core determines which site captured the most complete transmission and requests the recording from that site.

🚀 **No Unnecessary Uploads** — The other sites don't need to upload duplicate recordings, saving bandwidth and server resources.

📊 **Better Site Intelligence** — This integration also opens the door for more advanced site monitoring, receiver health reporting, and additional improvements down the road!

⚠️ **OHIO RSN LISTENERS — A QUICK HEADS-UP!**

As I continue testing Core throughout this week, there may be occasional server restarts while I fine-tune everything.

You may experience:
- Brief audio interruptions or disconnections.
- Your app's disconnect notification or alert.
- Automatic reconnection, typically within a minute or two.

**You shouldn't need to do anything!** The app should automatically reconnect when the server becomes available again.

I appreciate everyone's patience while I work through these changes!

**My goal is to have ThinLine Radio Core completed and released by the end of this week!**

The early testing results have been awesome. I'm already seeing the improvements I was hoping for, with cleaner transmissions, fewer duplicates, and calls being delivered in the correct order.

This is another major step forward in taking ThinLine Radio beyond traditional scanner streaming software and building something much more intelligent.

📢 **ThinLine Radio – Audio Playback Improvements!** 🔊

Over the past 24 hours, we've been hard at work investigating and resolving audio playback issues reported by our users!

Thanks to the diagnostic logs collected through the ThinLine Radio app, we've been able to identify the causes and implement several improvements to make audio playback smoother and more reliable.

✅ **What's Been Fixed & Improved:**

🔹 **No More Unnecessary Silence:** Short radio transmissions should now play without leaving extended gaps of silence between calls.

🔹 **Improved Audio Recovery:** If a transmission gets stuck, fails to load, or has no audio, the app will automatically attempt to recover it. If unsuccessful, it will skip that transmission instead of holding up the rest of the audio queue.

🔹 **Smoother Playback:** Improvements to audio handling should help keep transmissions playing more consistently with fewer interruptions.

🔄 **What Do You Need to Do?**

Simply **completely close and restart the ThinLine Radio app** to receive the latest improvements. No app store update is necessary!

📻 Ohio RSN & ThinLine Radio users — don’t worry, we’re not going anywhere!
We do not plan on creating a separate page. This is where everything started, and you can still message us right here for ThinLine Radio support, server questions, app questions, updates, and anything else you need.

💬 We also plan to explore Facebook Business Chat more and build out better ways for you to request support depending on what you need — whether that’s ThinLine Radio, server help, app support, website/development work, IT services, security systems, or another part of ThinLine Dynamic Solutions.

As we grow, we want messaging us to be easier and more organized so you can get pointed in the right direction faster. 🚀
Over the years, what started as a scanner network has grown into so much more. 💻📱🌐 We’ve developed websites, mobile apps, backend systems, hosting solutions, custom tools, and other products — including several projects that aren’t even publicly available yet. 👀

📢 **Ohio RSN – Audio & Channel Updates**

🔊 **Loud Audio Issue – Resolved**

Earlier today, we upgraded our receiver software, which unfortunately introduced a bug that caused audio levels to be significantly louder than normal.

This evening, we reverted the software change, and **audio levels are now back to normal and sounding clear.**

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone's patience while we worked to identify and resolve the issue.

🔒 **Akron Fire Department Alert Channel**

We also want to provide an update regarding the Akron FD Alert channel. Unfortunately, this channel has now transitioned to encrypted radio communications, meaning we are no longer able to receive or stream its audio.

All previously recorded audio remains available in our system, and we will continue retaining historical recordings for up to **one year**.

Since the channel is no longer accessible, it has been removed from the channel toggle options.

It is with great sorrow that the Ohio State Highway Patrol announces the off-duty death of Sergeant Tyler Carr of the Mansfield Post, who passed away following a tragic traffic crash today.

Our thoughts are with Sergeant Carr's family, the Mansfield Post, the Bucyrus District and the Patrol family as a whole.
