"High Meadow" - Sunset dipped behind Vermont’s Green Mountains with a dazzling display of gold and orange. The mountains themselves were layers of blues and purples. Wildflowers of all colors adorned the high meadow. It was a beautiful finale for a Vermont fall day. "After the Storm" - After a day of traveling in the rain, the sun broke through the clouds to give us a magnificent sunset on the St. Laurence River in the Canadian Province of Quebec. "Meandering Marie" - The Marie River, at Prince Edward Island, beacons you forward as it meanders along through golden marsh grasses on its way to the sea. It consists of a relatively small freshwater section that transitions into a tidal estuary where fresh and salt water mix. "Bridge To Nowhere" - The A.M. Foster covered bridge straddles a quiet pond in the middle of a field, far from the road. It was built on this beautiful spot because the owner simply loved covered bridges. We stumbled across it on the way to Burt’s Apple Orchard in Vermont. After filling up on apple cider donuts, we wandered back to catch the bridge in the foreground of a glowing sunset over the Green Mountains. "New River Gorge Morning Mist" - During explorations of the New River Gorge National Park we have seen clifftop views, numerous waterfalls, abandoned places, and whitewater rapids with rafters/kayakers navigating through. We had started hiking those rugged trails when this day the fog would only allow peeks through it to see sharp edges of trees, rocks and canyons far below. "Canaan Wetlands Sunset" -After exploring higher elevation locations around Canaan Valley, WV we were ready to leave thinking it was too late for a sunset. We meandered into wetlands which allowed mountain portraits as the sun had just begun to set. Two of us began shooting as our boots sunk into settling grasses. So excited to have two pieces selected for the 18th Annual Tamarack Best of West Virginia 2026. It opens with an awards ceremony on Saturday May 16th and the exhibit is open through July 26th! We are saddened by the passing of our good friend Eric Grandon of Sugar Bottom Farm. Eric trusted us to create our best design and commercial photography work. He affectionately named our packaging label concept “The Drip” and always expressed his appreciation of our help with his business. His wife Mary and daughter Abigail were so loved by Eric and we offer prayers for their peace and healing from this loss. Attached is a video of Eric explaining how the bees helped with his ptsd and healing him.
