These imaginary painted flowers were inspired by Scandinavian folk art and this little color + pencil detailed pattern I came across (swipe left to see)

I love how the soft, earthy colors of this print came together. And it was fun dabbling in this new style with simple pencil line work to add depth and detail.

I really believe in having peaceful imagery and color in your home where your eyes can have a place to rest and take in beauty. This print is now listed for sale on my website (link in profile) and will be at the this weekend!

I’ve been in creator mode over here for the past few weeks. In a lot of ways it has been a quiet, deep, stretching time.

There is a privilege involved in being able to have the time and tools to dig deep to be able to express what’s within. It’s taken me a while to get here and I feel like I’m just getting started.

Spiritually speaking, I’ve been pressed to tend to this gift of cultivating beauty. Robin Wall Kimmerer in her beautiful book, Braiding Sweetgrass, talks about the responsibility we have to tend to our gifting. To take it seriously and then release it to the world as an act of reciprocity. This has been a freeing, humbling and yet empowering thought to me the past few weeks.

Creating beauty is not a linear, rule following process. It’s a quiet whisper much like the voice of God, moving us closer to who we are and what we were made to share here with our dwindling days.
