In 1996, SRT brought local dial-up internet access to every phone exchange we served, ensuring our rural members weren't left out of the digital revolution.

That effort is an example of the third Cooperative Principle in action: Members' Economic Participation. By reinvesting directly into our local infrastructure, we were able to bring essential technology to areas larger providers had overlooked.

The Cooperative Principles drive everything we do. From dial-up pioneer to high-speed fiber provider, SRT remains dedicated to delivering reliable connection to every member we serve.

Watch the rest of the year as we ReMEMBER When. After all, there's no history without our members!

To finish up our National Co-op Month series, here is one more advantage of cooperative ownership: Your community benefits, too.

Much of what defines cooperatives boils down to the seventh cooperative principle: Concern for Community. More than just a service provider, SRT is a lifelong partner and neighbor. We take pride in supporting the growth, well-being, and local vitality of the places where we live and work alongside you.

Over the years, we have invested millions of dollars into local amenities, services, and community spirit across our service area. Look around your own hometown to see SRT's continued support at work in the places that make our region special. Today, October 28, is National First Responders Day! It's a time to honor the dedication and courage of law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, dispatchers, and all public safety personnel who answer the call every day.

Our communities are safer, stronger, and more connected because of your unwavering service.

At SRT, we are proud to support local first responders by helping provide the latest technology and fiber network infrastructure they rely on every day. Thank you for all you do to keep us safe!
