Reminder to be vigilant of scams, not only during the holiday season, but just in general.
Calls from “tech support” you didn’t request
Text or emails trying to start a conversation with someone who you don’t know
Text or emails stating you bought something that you don’t remember buying and can’t corroborate on your credit card
Text or emails stating that a company is holding a package for you but needs you to confirm personal information.
Text or emails that ask you to go to a website and enter personal information.
Do not, I mean, do not, allow someone you’ve never met before remotely access your computer.
If you own bank or crypto accounts, do not give out information to anyone about those accounts, especially if somebody calls out of the blue.
If you need tech-support from a company, do not search for it in Google. Go directly to the company’s website and get the phone number or chat.
These are just a few examples, but there are many more unfortunately. Always trust your instinct and Tech Doctor is always here to help.
