1. Make sure your phone isn’t auto-connecting to random WiFi. It could be a hacker trying to scam you.
2. Always keep your phone in close proximity, and enable shorter lock screen times in case it gets too far away.
3. Pop-ups can be malicious! Exit out and close all applications.
4. Limit sensitive conversations via text.
5. Install only the apps you use, delete the rest, and only download from a trusted app store.

If you don’t sign out of apps (like your bank account, social media, email, etc.), a thief will have a field day diving into your personal information if you forget to lock your phone and they get their hands on it.

Here are a few tips to make your phone, tablet, or computer as secure as possible.

1. Shorten the automatic lock time.
2. Use a secure code (NOT ones like 0000, 1234, or 6543).
3. Limit the number of attempts allowed (not too low in case you forget your password, but low enough that a thief couldn’t get through a lot of guesses).

There is a quote that goes, “There is someone out there confidently doing what you want to be doing worse than you can do it, and they have no plans on making it better."

That probably brings a few instant examples to mind.

It serves as a good reminder that we shouldn’t hold back and play small.
