🌱 Capital City Farmers Market — May 16th Market Day 🌱

A heartfelt thank you to the 1,500+ beautiful people who joined us at last week’s market. Your support for local farms, food producers, artists, and community organizations helps make these Saturdays feel truly special. We’re so grateful to gather with all of you each week in downtown Montpelier.

We hope you'll join us again this Saturday, May 16th from 9 AM–1 PM at 133 State Street in Montpelier for another vibrant market day celebrating the arrival of gardening season!

This week’s market will feature:
🌿 Garden starts & vegetable seedlings
🌸 Flower starts and herbs
🥬 Fresh local produce and farm goods
🍞 Handmade baked goods and prepared foods
🧀 Artisan cheeses, gifts, pottery and specialty products
☕ Music, conversation, and community connection

It’s shaping up to be a spectacular weekend to see some art!

𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱 is taking place this Saturday and Sunday, October 4 & 5. If you have a favorite artist, this is a fantastic opportunity for you to get a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into the creative process.

Several of our artists are opening their studios for the event, including Jean Meinhardt, Daryl Storrs, Laura Zindel Design, Apple Hill Sugar Works, Matt Sullivan, May Day Studio, Elissa Campbell/Blue Roof Designs, Blackthorne Forge, Matt Seasholtz, and Wind's Edge Studio.

Last week, I had the great honor of being interviewed by Elissa Borden - WCAX for her amazing segment, Made in Vermont. She listened to me nerd out about paper and type and antique cast iron and made my rambles sound almost brilliant. Thank you, Elissa!

May Day Studio's prints are nothing short of art, though it’s not the art Kelly McMahon was expecting to make a career in.
