🚨 SCAM ALERT – Fake “Traffic Fine Enforcement” Texts 🚨

The Montpelier Police Department is alerting residents to another fraudulent text message circulating in our community claiming to be from the “Vermont State Government” about an overdue traffic fine and pending enforcement action. This message is a scam. Official agencies do not send threatening texts with suspicious links or demand immediate payment this way. Messages referencing vague statutes, urgent deadlines, and severe penalties are designed to create panic and pressure you into clicking malicious links or sharing personal information.

Red Flags: unexpected legal threats by text, misspelled or altered wording, references to vague laws, and links that are not official .gov websites.

Protect Yourself: do not click the link or reply, verify any concerns directly through official government websites, report scam texts to 7726 (SPAM), and delete the message. If you already entered information, contact your bank immediately and monitor your accounts. Please be aware of this texting scam that is going around! This is pretending to be from Amazon, but if you happen to click on the link, it goes to a page that will steal your Amazon login info, allowing the malicious actor to purchase items with any saved payment methods.

Sean here! It feels funny to post about myself, but to continue the trend of posting work anniversaries:

For myself, I hit my 3-year mark at North Branch Tech just last week! I have to say that I have loved North Branch Tech more than any previous role I've held. I am busier than ever, but in the best way. I greatly appreciate everyone I have worked with, and the amazing team that we currently have. I am forever appreciative of where I am and where we're going! Cheers!
