We found out yesterday that we lost another dear audio friend and mentor - Dr Eugene Patronis.

I received this note from Charlie Hughes.

"It is with great sadness that I write to let you know of some very unfortunate news I received the other day. Apparently Doc passed away a few weeks ago. Another of his students, David Bie, informed me of this after his emails & calls to Doc went unanswered.

This comes as quite a shock to me, as I saw him only a couple of months ago on the occasion of his 90th birthday. He looked really good and we had a nice visit together."

Dr. Patronis taught physics at George Tech in Atlanta GA. Many of his students have made huge contributions to our industry He enabled and inspired his students. His students always spoke of him with such respect and gratitude.

Dr Patronis taught at many SynAudCon Workshops and co-authored Sound Systems Engineering Edition 3 & 4 with Don David and Pat Brown. He also wrote many articles. I would like to bring your attention to a 6-part series "What is Waving and Why? The Anatomy of the Wave Equation.

A quote from Albert Einstein: If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough." I heard Don Davis say many times. "It was Dr Patronis that could break it down so I could understand it." He was able to teach the most complex topics in a simple way. His contributions are far reaching indeed.

William Arthur Ward says the good teacher explains, the superior teacher demonstrates and the great teacher inspires. This describes Dr Patronis well.

THANK YOU Dr. Patronis. You will be greatly missed.

Today we are with the great people of Heaven Bound church in Norman. We upgraded the speakers and saved the rest of their sound system. From poor audio to a great system for their music and spoken word.

We lost a very dear friend and mentor today - Blair McNair. This is the story that was presented to me.

He was admitted to the hospital with Covid on Jan 30th. He was freed of the Covid virus but the damage to his lungs and heart was too much for him. He passed away yesterday at 5pm.

Because of Covid protocols, his wife, Marcia, could not be with him during his illness. This is truly heartbreaking.

We will miss seeing Blair in his blue jacket filled with pins. We will miss his uplifting attitude, his smile, his sense of humor and his wisdom.

Blair is in his heavenly home. Keep Marcia and his family in your prayers.
