2024 was another excellent year for our Co-op! We continue to work at connecting our communities with High-Speed, Low-Cost Fiber Optic options.

We've made serious progress in recent years and we are proud to announce that we've brought direct fiber connectivity to over 90% of our service area, including some of our most remote customers!

In 2025 we look to continue bridging the divide between competitive high-speed internet and rural living.

We thank you for supporting La Jicarita as your community provider.

Ocate, New Mexico is the first community in our service area we would like to highlight in the coming months.

Here are just a few notable facts about Ocate:

Nomadic Native American tribes such as the Navajo, Ute, Kiowa, Comanche, and Northern Apache, were some of this region’s earliest known inhabitants.

The word Ocate is said to be a Tewa word meaning, “port of the air” or “valley of the wind.”

Ocate's post office was established in January, 1870.

Ocate's river crossing was used heavily during and after the Civil War.

You can find Ocate at the intersection of State Roads 120 and 442.

Phishing emails can be tricky to spot, and cybercriminals are always finding new ways to trick us out of our hard-earned money. But, before you click that link, check for these red flags:
• Hover over links to see where they really lead and examine the URL for anything that doesn’t look right.
• Be suspicious of offers that seem too good to be true, threatening messages that incite panic, or a request for something out of the ordinary for the sender.
• And never enter personal info, like a password or other sensitive info, into a link you’re not 100% sure is legitimate.
